The Pakistani security forces exchanged fire with two separators holding about 300 people hostage on a train.

According to the “BBC” website, military sources said that gunmen in the Pakistani Baluchistan region attacked a train carrying more than 400 passengers and kidnapped a number of them hostage.
The Balochistan Liberation Army fired on the Jaafar Express train as it travels from Quetta to Peshawar.
The separatist group said that it bombed the railway before storming the train in the remote Sibi area, claiming that the train was under its control.
Local media reported the killing of at least 16 militants and the liberation of 100 passengers until Wednesday morning.
Among them is 17 injured passengers who were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The gunmen had threatened to kill the hostages if the authorities did not release political prisoners, Baloch within 48 hours, according to local reports.

The rescue process continues

A spokesman for the Baluchistan government told the local newspaper “Down” on Tuesday that there were reports of “heavy shooting” on the train.
A senior police official said, “The bus is still stuck in front of a mountain tunnel,” according to Agence France -Presse.
A senior army official confirmed to the BBC that more than 100 members of the army were traveling from Kuwait on the train.
