Infrastructure projects in order to keep pace with the increase in energy demand

The Managing Director, CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, inspected a number of electricity infrastructure projects implemented by the authority in Hatta, within the comprehensive development plan launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, to develop the Hatta region, and includes a package of projects that serve the Hatta region and its people and meet their needs.

Al -Tayer stressed that these projects come within the efforts of the commission to keep pace with the continuous increase in the demand for electricity in various parts of the Emirate of Dubai, to benefit from advanced technologies and give priority to sustainability, as the authority continues to lead efforts to achieve Dubai’s goals in the field of clean energy, and enhance regional and global cooperation for a sustainable future.

Al -Tayer pointed to the commitment of the authority to support the achievement of the targets of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 regarding the Haza region, as well as the targets of the Dubai Economic and Social Revolutions, and the consolidation of innovation and sustainability as basic pillars for the future of energy in Dubai, in addition to achieving Dubai goals in the field of clean energy in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, and the carbon neutrality strategy 2050 for the Emirate of Dubai to provide 100% of the ability Productivity of energy from clean energy sources by 2050.

Al -Tayer was briefed on the progress of the workflow in the main power transmission station project, 132 km, with a 120 -megapixel transformative capacity, and air transport lines with a voltage of 132 km, to enhance energy transport capabilities in the Hatta region, at a cost of 294.78 million dirhams.

This project greatly enhances the energy transport capabilities in the region, as it includes 82.9 kilometers of air lines, 328 transport towers, in addition to 18 km of ground cables to connect the stations to the main transport network. The project plays an important role in integrating renewable energy sources, especially the electrical station with the stored water energy technology that the authority is implemented in Hatta, with a production capacity of 250 megawatts.

Al -Tayer also inspected another main electricity transmission power station implemented by the authority in Hatta, 132 km voltage, with a 120 -megapixel transformative capacity, and the station contributes to developing the energy network in response to the needs of the growing area and providing citizens ’housing areas in Hatta, and is scheduled to be operated in March 2026, and the total cost of the station is 116 million dirhams.
