"Muslim sages" .. 11 years of spreading a culture of dialogue, tolerance and human coexistence

Abu Dhabi, March 21 / WAM / Today, the eleventh anniversary of the founding of the Council of Muslim Elders headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar, and the membership of a number of scholars of the nation.

The council was established on the 21st of Ramadan in 1435 AH, corresponding to July 19, 2014, with the aim of promoting peace and spreading the values ​​of dialogue, tolerance, human coexistence, supporting the nation’s issues, unifying and reuniting its ranks, and enhancing the role of leaders and symbols of religions in facing global challenges.

His Excellency Counselor Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary -General of the Council of Muslim Elders, stressed that since its establishment, the Council has devoted its effort to work to promote peace and spread the values ​​of brotherhood and human acquaintance, highlighting the tolerant values ​​of Islam in dealing with the other, and affirming the importance of dialogue, understanding and mutual respect, in addition to strengthening the self -immunity of the nation and promoting Islamic Islamic dialogue, for the sake of the unity of the class and the reunification of the ranks.

He expressed the assessment of the council as president, members and employees of the UAE and its wise leadership for its support for the efforts and initiatives of the Council aimed at consolidating the values ​​of peace and coexistence.

The council worked to launch dialogue rounds between East and West, which included Florence, Paris, Geneva, Cairo, Abu Dhabi and Manama, and aimed to achieve the council’s vision based on strengthening peace.

These tours crowned the launch of the historical humanitarian brotherhood document signed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church in February 2019.

The Council also launched international peace convoys and Ramadan missions with the aim of enhancing bridges of communication with Muslims, spreading enlightened average thought, correcting their misconceptions, and encouraging them to integrate positive in their societies, confronting all forms of hatred, racism, extremism, terrorism and Islamophobia, and the Council organized many international conferences that discussed issues of peace, citizenship, diversity and coexistence, and enhancing the role of religious leaders in facing a challenge Climate.

In terms of empowering young people as a basic pillar of building a conscious generation capable of carrying the banner of coexistence and peace, the Council launched many initiatives; Including: Peace Makers Forum, the global student dialog program on human brotherhood, the Azadi Fellowship Program in Pakistan to consolidate the culture of religious and cultural dialogue and confront extremism, the fellowship of moral education for children with the aim of instilling human values ​​in the educational system, and the initiative of bridges that link us to enhance the skills of participants in the field of volunteer work and instilling the values ​​of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence.

In the belief of the Council of the importance of the word in spreading the culture of dialogue and coexistence, the Council launched in 2019 the “Wise Publishing”, a publishing house specialized in issuing and translating books, in a way that contributes to spreading a culture of tolerance and coexistence, as the number of its publications so far reached more than 250 titles in more than 7 languages, and in 2020 he established the Wise Center for Peace Research.

The external offices of the Muslim Wise Council represented beacons of hope and bridges for communication and coexistence; The Council established a number of branches and external offices in several countries that included Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and others.

With regard to climate issues, which represent the most important challenges that threaten life on the surface of the planet, the Council of Muslim Elders presented exceptional initiatives to protect the planet. Where the Conference of Leaders and Symbols of Religions for Climate in Southeast Asia, and the global summit of leaders and symbols of religions for the climate in Abu Dhabi, which culminated in the launch of the “Call Call Call, the joint statement of the climate for climate”, in addition to organizing the religions of the religions for the first time in the history of the parties’ conferences in COP28 in Dubai, as well as participation in organizing the global summit of leaders and symbols of religions for the climate in the Azerbaijani capital Baku and organizing the religions of the religions in COP29.

The Council of Muslim Elders also worked to support the nation and defend its issues and establish a new stage of Islamic Islamic dialogue, in response to the call of the Grand Imam, Sheikh of Al -Azhar, during the Bahrain Dialogue Forum, to enhance the Islamic affairs and the unity of the nation.

On February 19 and 20, the Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the first version of the Islamic Islamic Dialogue Conference, and culminated in the launch of the “Call of the Qiblah” charter to be a document of university principles to enhance dialogue and understanding between the various sects and schools of Islamic thought.
