"Al Wathba Flowers" A platform for agricultural innovation at the Sheikh Zayed Festival

Abu Dhabi, January 20 / WAM / Al Wathba Flower Festival, one of the festivals accompanying the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence, is an integrated platform that combines the beauty of nature with the development of modern agricultural practices, reflecting the UAE’s vision in supporting sustainability and promoting innovation in the agricultural sector.

The festival offers visitors and participants a diverse program of activities and events that meet the interests of various segments of society, including specialized workshops in the fields of creating three-dimensional content related to flowers, interactive applied workshops, in addition to a group of specific competitions that focus on creativity and innovation, including designing desert gardens, transformative products from flowers, and the most beautiful home gardens, in addition to photography competitions and creative practices in flower arranging.

The festival, whose activities continue until January 30, also includes live performances of flower arranging arts, and interactive activities directed at families, children, and those interested in agriculture and related arts, which enhances the community character of the event and encourages broad participation.

The organization of the second session of the festival in the award pavilion at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in the Al Wathba area in Abu Dhabi comes as a continuation of the successes achieved in its first edition, which witnessed a wide turnout from the public and the implementation of a large number of events and competitions, which contributed to consolidating its status as a prominent agricultural and cultural event.

His Excellency Mubarak Al Qasili Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Festivals and Competitions Committee accompanying the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence, said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the festival represents a practical model of how to employ community activities to spread agricultural awareness in an innovative and attractive manner, noting that

Organizing the festival as part of the festivals accompanying the award is consistent with the award’s objectives of stimulating creativity, encouraging the adoption of modern agricultural practices, and highlighting successful models in the fields of agriculture, flower arrangement, and related products.

He stressed that the festival, with its various activities, provides a platform to support local products and national farms, and also opens new horizons for farmers and innovators to present their experiences and exchange expertise, thus enhancing the competitiveness of the agricultural sector and consolidating the position of agriculture as a vital sector based on knowledge and innovation.

For her part, Mead Mohammed Al Rashidi, head of the Al Wathba Flower Festival team, confirmed in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the festival embodies the vision of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence in launching specific initiatives that celebrate agriculture as a cultural and economic value, noting that flowers represent an important aesthetic element that reflects the development of the agricultural sector in the country.

She explained that the festival provides a platform to support productive families and exchange expertise and experiences among participants, noting that the diversity of events and competitions reflects the organizing committee’s keenness to attract different age groups and interests.
