The UAE launches the Khalifa Bin Zayed Institute for Vocational Education in Senegal

Dakar, January 20 / WAM / The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Work, in the presence of His Excellency Ousmane Sonko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Senegal, inaugurated the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Institute for Vocational Education in the Republic of Senegal, within the framework of supporting efforts aimed at empowering young people, enhancing opportunities for vocational and technical education, and starting to open their own commercial projects.

The opening of the institute aims to provide advanced vocational education that contributes to the preparation of qualified national cadres that meet the requirements of the labor market and support sustainable development paths in Senegal.

In his speech during the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Senegal stressed the importance of vocational education in empowering youth and achieving comprehensive development, expressing his deep thanks and appreciation to the UAE and the Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation for this vital project that contributes to building the capabilities of future generations.

For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, Director General of the Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation, said that the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Institute for Vocational Education represents an extension of the strong fraternal relations between the UAE and the Republic of Senegal, and reflects the UAE’s commitment to supporting young people and enabling them to contribute effectively to the process of development and prosperity in their societies.

The Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Institute for Vocational Education includes a group of professional and technical specializations that meet the needs of the labor market, including automobile mechanics, refrigeration and air conditioning, accounting and management, computer science, industrial computing, and networks.

The institute’s capacity expands to about 1,000 students, allowing it to contribute effectively to preparing and qualifying large numbers of young people with the practical and cognitive skills required to support economic and social development in the Republic of Senegal.

The institute falls within the humanitarian and development initiatives implemented by the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Work, and embodies the UAE’s commitment to supporting the education sector as a basic pillar of economic and social development in brotherly and friendly countries.
