After the Riyadh talks .. Russia and Ukraine agree on a truce in the Black Sea
The two sides stated that the two sides agreed to ensure the safety of civil charging, stop violence and prevent the use of commercial ships for military purposes.
Representatives from the United States held separate talks with Russian and Ukrainian negotiators in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during the past three days.
Navigation in the Black Sea
Ukraine said that Russian marine ships will not be allowed except in the eastern half of the Black Sea. And if Russian warships appear in the western half, Ukraine will exercise its right to self -defense.
The Russian side had previously stated that there would be no joint statement after the talks due to Ukraine’s position. Moscow did not provide more details. Russia had withdrawn earlier from the Black Sea initiative in which Türkiye and the United Nations were mediated to facilitate Ukrainian grain exports after the outbreak of the war, because it felt that its own interests were not protected.
Grain and fertilizer shipments
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the guarantee that the shipments of Russian grains and fertilizers are not being subjected to the attack, only by American order of Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski.
The Russian delegation in Riyadh was chaired by Gregory Carrasin, head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Council, and Sergey Besida, a high -level intelligence official close to President Vladimir Putin.
The American delegation included several teams, in the presence of the American Special Envoy to Ukraine Keith Keel and US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, while the chief Ukrainian negotiator, André Yermak, also visited Saudi Arabia.
30 -day truce
The Kremlin announced on Tuesday that Moscow and Washington will put “measures” that allow the application of a 30 -day truce to stop the strikes on energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine.
“Russia and the United States have agreed to establish measures to implement the agreements of the two countries of the two countries on banning strikes on energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine for 30 days,” the Kremlin said in a statement.
