The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al Habtoor Group, Khalaf Al Habtoor, called on members of society and his institutions to ensure that more charitable work for the benefit of humanity and improve its conditions, indicating that the announcement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, 2025, “The Year of Society”, is an initiative that embodies the values ​​of solidarity and social solidarity that is an essential pillar in the UAE’s approach.

The total personal donations allocated by the Emirati businessman Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor exceeded two billion dirhams, directed to support a wide range of initiatives inside and outside the UAE, and these contributions were not limited to providing financial support only, but also included investing in the development of societies, enhancing dialogue between religions, supporting education and scientific research, improving health care services, in addition to major projects aimed at reducing poverty and raising the standard of living For the most needy groups.

In this context, the Executive Director of the Department of Local Affairs and Community Relations in the Al Habtoor Group, Abdul Salam Al Marzouqi, praised the pioneering role played by Al Habtoor in charitable work, saying: “The commitment of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Habtoor Group, behind Ahmed Al Habtoor to charitable work is not just financial contributions, but rather a sustainable vision that seeks to make a real change in the lives of individuals and societies. His humanitarian initiatives, whether inside or outside the UAE, reflect the spirit of giving on which it grew up, and enhances the lofty values ​​on which our state is based, as it is a role model in societal responsibility, and represents a role model for the private sector in supporting sustainable development.

Palestine:

• The “Peace Ways” initiative: to support peace achievement efforts by cooperating with the Carter Foundation.

Lebanon

Total aid for Lebanon exceeded 73 million dirhams (20 million dollars) in recent years, including:

• Supporting the health sector: After the Beirut Port explosion in 2020, more than 7.5 million dirhams (two million dollars) were provided to support the affected hospitals, such as Al -Makassed Hospital and Rafic Hariri University Hospital.

• House reconstruction: Restoring 300 homes in Ashrafieh and its vicinity.

• Crares to support the needy: Distributing more than 50,000 food parcels and blankets to poor Lebanese families in more than 100 villages.

• Khalaf Al Habtoor Hospital in Akkar: funding 100 million dirhams, serves 22 villages in northern Lebanese, and provides advanced medical services.

• Launching a aid campaign to distribute food in Lebanon for Syrian and Palestinian refugees, and the needy of the Lebanese, with more than 100 million dirhams.

Egypt:

• Khalaf Al Habtoor Stadium at the American University of Cairo: Establishing a sports stadium of 18.5 million dirhams.

• An annual grant for the Carter Foundation – the Middle East Program, specifically to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians with more than 10 million dirhams.

• Launching and supporting the “Peace Ways” initiative between the Palestinians and the Israelis in cooperation with the Carter Foundation.

• Providing a grant for a campaign “I seek help from Filipina”, which was launched by the Emirates Red Crescent Authority to alleviate the suffering of the displaced Syrians in Jordan and Lebanon, at a value of 10 million dirhams.

• Building and operating mosques in Jordan, two mosques in Albania and a mosque in Kosova.

In October 2016, Al Habtoor pledged to allocate 100 million dirhams of his own money as part of the launch of a plan to alleviate poverty, and appealed to other white hands to donate similar sums, saying: “In the 21st century, I do not understand how people in regions of the world suffer from a severe humanitarian crisis and severe hunger, that they are deprived of their basic needs, this is unacceptable.”
