Sharjah Police inaugurates modern libraries in the penal and correctional institution
Sharjah, March 27 / WAM / The General Command of Sharjah Police launched today modern libraries in the penal and correctional institution in cooperation with a platform for distribution by 4 libraries, with the aim of enhancing the culture of reading and knowledge of guests and their scientific and intellectual empowerment in an integrated reform environment.
The inauguration was attended by His Excellency Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander -in -Chief of Sharjah Police, Mohamed Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, Rashid Al -Kous, Executive Director of the Emirati Publishers Association, and a number of general directors of leadership, directors of departments and specialization officers from the Foundation.
During his field tour in the corridors of the new libraries, Bin Amer reviewed the modern equipment and its diverse scientific and cultural content, which meets the needs of all guests and their cultural tastes in addition to providing them with the latest publications and best -selling books in external libraries, as well as the libraries in the Women’s Department, and inspected the House of Al -Aman’s custody.
He stressed that this step embodies the interest of Sharjah Police and a platform company for distribution in establishing reading and supporting rehabilitation programs that include education, training and psychological support, as modern libraries represent an important tributary of these programs as it provides an environment that stimulates reading and self -reconstruction.
The Commander in Chief appreciated the efforts of the punitive and reformist establishment in implementing comprehensive reform programs based on the development of the mind, the refinement of skills and the opening of new horizons for the inmates to build a prosperous future for them, indicating that the libraries are an extension of the continuous development process that the Foundation is witnessing at all levels in line with the state’s tendencies in empowering man and ensuring his rights and giving him a real opportunity to return to his community better.
For his part, Colonel Abdullah Alai Al -Naqbi, Director of the Punitive and Correctional Corporation Department, explained that the design of libraries came based on a specialized study aimed at providing a stimulating and attractive environment for reading that differs in its nature from the traditional model of libraries, which contributes to encouraging inmates
In conclusion, Major General Ibn Amer honored both Mohammed Khalaf and Rashid Al -Kous in appreciation of their distinguished efforts in promoting the cultural and cognitive movement at the emirate level
