"Dubai Electricity" Production efficiency has been raised by 43.61% since 2006

Dubai on April 2 / WAM / The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has strengthened the efficiency of electricity and water production by 43.61% in 2024 compared to 2006, equivalent to a total decrease in carbon dioxide emissions by a cumulative amount of 104 million tons between 2006 and 2024, and the equivalent of cultivating 527 million trees to absorb this amount of carbon dioxide emissions.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, Managing Director, CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, stated that this improvement in the efficiency of electricity and water production contributed to achieving the authority and great financial savings.
For his part, Eng. Nasser Lootah, CEO of the President for the Production Sector, “Energy and Water”, said that the authority attaches great importance to enhancing the efficiency of electricity and water production through the continuous innovation and development of production stations, in addition to adopting the latest technologies in all its facilities and projects, and is keen to develop operating procedures and maintenance operations continuously in order to improve efficiency.
The Authority produces electricity and water using the technology of joint energy production, as steam generators work to benefit from the wasted heat resulting from gas turbines to generate additional electricity and provide thermal energy for desalination operations, and the authority also adopts an innovative hybrid system in water desalination plants that combines different technologies that include multi -stage ocean The life of the stations.
