Dubai, April 6 / WAM / in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Development and Citizen Affairs in Dubai, to work to develop and activate the role of neighborhood councils in the emirate, Dubai Municipality in cooperation with the Community Development Authority in Dubai has established a project to establish and construct 5 community neighborhood councils in regions, Nad Al -Sheba Al -Thani, and the second And Al Barsha, the first south, the second shells, and the Hatta area.
The project of community neighborhood councils in conjunction with the 2025 declaration of society in the UAE, which aims to enhance ties within families and society, reflects the leadership vision towards building a coherent and prosperous society.
It is also in line with the goals of the Dubai Social Agency 33, aimed at achieving the happiest, most interconnected, tolerant and adherence to national values and identity, and the achievement of the most effective and pre -emptive social system in protection, care and empowerment, and in a manner that guarantees the family and social stability of citizens.
His Excellency Hessa Bint Issa Bouhamid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai said: “The community neighborhood councils in Dubai constitute a vivid model for embodying social cohesion and enhancing ties between community members, as it works as spaces that bring together people in an environment that supports dialogue and communication, and reflects the cultural and social heritage of the UAE, and based on the role of the Community Development Authority in supervising the Dubai neighborhood councils, we are keen to develop its role in a way that accompanies the needs of the needs Residential neighborhoods, and enhances their role in adhering to the national identity through various societal activities and activities, as well as their important role in hosting the occasions of the people of the neighborhoods.
“The project of establishing the new councils is a pivotal step in supporting the vision of good leadership in building a more interconnected society, as these projects come in response to population growth and urban expansion, and to ensure social services reach all residential neighborhoods according to the highest standards, and these efforts are consistent with the goals of the general community, empowering families and promoting the quality of life.”
Her Excellency explained that the expansion of the community councils network reflects Dubai’s commitment to promoting national identity and consolidating the authentic Emirati values, as these councils remain more than just facilities, but rather active platforms to strengthen the social fabric, enhance the participation of individuals in developing their society, and the sustainability of cultural heritage that enhances the stability of the family and society.
For his part, His Excellency Eng. He added: “Community neighborhood councils play a vital role in strengthening societal interdependence and cohesion among the residents of the neighborhoods, enhancing the national identity and urging young people to adhere to the authentic Emirati customs and traditions inherited from the ancestors, as these councils represent a meeting point and direct communication with the population to discuss various societal issues and know their aspirations, listen to their proposals, and use them to enhance the quality of their lives, as well as Being positive participatory spaces to establish various social activities and events supporting families and individuals, based on the position that I took over time as a forum in which the population meets on various occasions to consult, exchange visions and put societal solutions.
Community neighborhood councils in the Emirate of Dubai brings together a unified design, based on the modern architectural character in terms of general form and external and internal finishes, and the design of the Hatta Council will take into account the preservation of the authentic heritage, historical and patriotic identity of Dubai neighborhood councils in terms of internal divisions, and compatibility with the urban standards of the Hatta region in terms of general design.
The total area of the councils is 6280 square meters, and the area of one council reaches 1256 square meters, and it will consist of a multi -use hall that can be divided, a council for daily use, a champion for men and women, in addition to the reception area, administrative spaces for employee offices, stores, preparatory kitchens, and toilets.
It is expected that each of the councils of Al -Barsha regions south, the second shells, the second youth, and the second Al -Aweir in the fourth quarter of this year 2025, will be delivered, while the Hatta Council will be completed in the second quarter of the year 2026.
