On the occasion of the first human journey, the UAE continues its qualitative contributions to space exploration

Abu Dhabi, April 11/ WAM/ The UAE continues its qualitative contributions to space exploring, depending on the efforts and arms of its qualified national cadres and youth who do not know the impossible.
The UAE will participate tomorrow, the world of celebrating the anniversary of the first human journey to space, and has achieved a historical achievement represented in the launch of six artificial moons into space during the first quarter of this year.
The list of satellites launched by the UAE to space included “Al -Thuraya 4”, which started to its orbit on January 4, while on the 14th of the same month witnessed the launch of “Mohammed bin Zayed Sat”, “Al Ain Sat – 1” and “HCT -SAT 1” and the second stage of the Furasite satellite constellation, to the artificial satellite “Etihad Sat”, which the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Space announced last March, for the success of its launch.
The occasion comes, this year, at a time when the UAE experience in the field of space exploration has become one of the most prominent stories of success at the Arab and regional levels, given the size of the achievements it has achieved, the exceptional projects it launched, and its success in making a generation of astronauts and national administrative and technical crews capable of continuing leadership in this sector.
Last February, the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center and Talis Alienia Space as the strategic partner in the lunar space station project, by developing the “pressure equation unit” within the lunar station.
The UAE is achieving through its participation in the lunar space station by developing the pressure equation unit, a new qualitative leap within the strategy aimed at consolidating the UAE, effective and influential Emirati presence in all areas of space science and its technologies.
In January 2024, the UAE announced that it had joined the project of developing the lunar space station alongside the United States of America, Japan, Canada and the European Union, in addition to announcing the sending of the first Emirati and Arab astronaut to the moon’s orbit.
The UAE’s mission to explore the asteroid belt has achieved a qualitative achievement by completing the final design review “CDR” during the period from 24 to 26 February 2025, with the participation of a group of Emirati and international experts, which paves the way for moving to the grouping, installation, and testing of Mohammed bin Rashid.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center announced, last March, that registration was opened for Emirati citizens, to participate in future space simulation studies, within the Emirates Space Simulation Program.
The center is looking for Emirati volunteers between the ages of 30 and 55, who are healthy, and hold certificates in areas such as engineering, technology, or health care, with the English language proficiency.
Studies aim to simulate space environments on Earth, and to study the effect of isolation on the health of astronauts, in addition to the dynamics of teamwork, within the framework of the state’s preparations for long -term space missions, and is an essential component of inhabited space missions as it helps in developing space exploration strategies, such as future trips to the moon and Mars.
By simulating the space environment in specialized facilities, researchers can assess the ability of human beings to adapt, develop preventive measures against potential risks, and improve space operations strategies.
In turn, the UAE project to explore Mars, “The probe of hope”, a few days ago, to monitor valleys, mountains and fog dug in the red planet, thus enhancing its valuable contribution to providing a comprehensive image of the Mars climate and its various atmosphere layers.
Since its arrival in the orbit of Mars on February 9, 2021, the Al -Amal probe has provided 12 packages of scientific data for the Red Planet’s atmosphere, with a total of 5.4 TB, and freely in conjunction with 200 scientific and research entities around the world, through the project’s scientific data platform.
It is worth noting that the first human journey to the outer space is registered in the name of Soviet space pioneer Yuri Ghgrin on April 12, 1961, while Valentina Tirishkova became the first woman to fly around the Earth on June 16, 1963, while Neil Armstrong is the first person to step in the foot of the moon on July 20, 1969.
