Shabab Al-Ahly qualifies for the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League for the Elite

JEDDAH, April 18, 2018 (WAM) – Shabab Al-Ahly qualified for the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League Elite Football Championship, after defeating the Thai Buriram team today, 3-2, after overtime, at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as part of the quarter-final matches.

Shabab Al-Ahly advanced with an own goal scored by Buriram player Peter Zuli (13th Q.), and Saeed Ezzatullah added the second goal for Shabab Al-Ahly (49th Q.).

Guilherme Bisoli reduced the gap for the Thai team (64th minute) from the penalty spot, before his colleague Peter Zuli equalized the score (70th minute), and through Renan, Shabab Al-Ahly regained the lead (93rd minute).

Shabab Al-Ahly will face Japanese team Machida Zelvia in the next round, while Japanese Vissel Kobe will face Al-Ahly Saudi Arabia in the same round.
