"Emirates Studies" It looks forward to the future of transportation in the country 2035

Abu Dhabi, April 11/ WAM/ The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research organized, at its headquarters, a workshop entitled “foreseeing the future of transportation in the Emirates 2035: from self -driving cars to the flying taxi”, as part of his interest in the foresight of the future.
His Excellency Dr. Saeed Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director of the Center for Future Studies at Dubai University, spoke in the workshop in the presence of a group of specialists, thinkers and experts to anticipate future prospects and formulate innovative visions that contribute to achieving a qualitative shift in the transport sector, which is of great importance in the country and witnesses many successive developments, through which he achieved many achievements.
Dr. Saeed Al Dhaheri highlighted the challenges facing current transportation systems, pointing to traffic congestion as one of the most prominent problems that affect the quality of life through the methodology of class analysis and the theory of “snow mountain”.
He called for looking at the problem from multiple angles, as its future solutions require a deep understanding of the root causes hiding under the surface, presenting a comprehensive vision to analyze these challenges, and that innovation is the key to the doors of the future, referring to self -driving cars and flying taxi as symbols of progress and global leadership
He explained that modern technologies contribute to a radical transformation in transportation systems, which helps to reduce congestion and improve the efficiency of daily movement, stressing the importance of developing smart infrastructure and the application of traffic management systems that depend on advanced data, which enhances sustainability and puts the UAE at the forefront of countries that adopt future transport solutions.
He stressed that talking about the future of the transport sector embodies the spirit of innovation and creativity that is reflected in every aspect of the UAE’s vision for the future, stressing the importance of close cooperation between different institutions to develop smart and sustainable solutions that enhance the quality of life and support the state’s aspirations towards global leadership.
At the end of the workshop, Dr. Al -Dhahiri presented an interactive questionnaire for the audience, calling them to participate in their ideas and perceptions about future scenarios for transportation during the coming years, as their opinions contributed to enriching the discussion and formulating a common vision of a bright future that exceeds the limits of possible.
It is noteworthy that the Center for Future Studies at Dubai University was established in 2020, with the aim of presenting a set of programs that contribute to the empowerment of government and private institutions in the UAE and the region to foresee the future and promote future studies.
