The Future Skills Academy trains Arab youth digitally with more than 13,000 courses

Dubai, June 6 / WAM / Since its launch in September 2024, the “Future Skills Academy” continues to enhance the capabilities of Arab youth with modern practical skills, through innovative training programs covering vital areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analysis, and entrepreneurship strategy.

The academy provided more than 13,000 training courses aimed at enabling young people to develop their practical skills, enhance their career opportunities, and launch their own projects, in order to achieve a tangible impact on the digital transformation process in the region.

His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, confirmed to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the great demand for the academy reflects Arab youth’s awareness of the importance of acquiring modern skills, noting that many of them have already been able to improve their job opportunities or establish their own projects after completing the training programs.

He said that investing in skills development constitutes an essential foundation for keeping pace with digital transformations, expressing his confidence in the ability of Arab youth to achieve qualitative progress in the coming years if they continue to develop their capabilities in line with the requirements of the labor market.

He added that the academy seeks to reach millions of learners in the Arab world in the coming years, with a focus on providing high-quality training content that matches market needs, pointing out that partnerships with international institutions contribute to enhancing the quality of the programs and expanding the scope of benefit from them.

He pointed out that the success stories achieved through the academy represent a strong motivation to continue developing the programs, as many young people were able to move from searching for work to establishing their own projects or obtaining advanced jobs, which reflects the real impact of investment in building future skills.

The launch of the academy came against the backdrop of previous efforts launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme, through the 2017 Future of Knowledge Foresight report, which revealed a clear gap in the future skills of Arab youth, especially in areas related to technology and digital transformation.

Based on the results of the report, the “Future Skills” initiative was launched, targeting 9 Arab countries, and thousands of free training licenses were distributed, which contributed to training thousands of young people and developing their professional capabilities, which paved the way for expanding the scope of influence later through the launch of the academy.
