America announces the reduction of the Pentagon spending by $ 5.1 billion

The US Defense Secretary, Beit Higseth, announced that the Pentagon will reduce his “unnecessary” spending by $ 5.1 billion, and the reduction of grants offered to two prominent American universities.
“In the meantime, we will sign a memorandum to order the end of contracts with the Ministry of Defense with a value of $ 5.1 billion,” Higseth said in a video clip posted on the X platform.

This announcement is part of a huge federal program to reduce the budget that Illon Musk pledged, with the approval of President Donald Trump, as part of his mandate to manage government competence.
The relevant expenditures include $ 500 million of scholarships allocated to the University of North Western and the University of Cornell, which they described as “two academies that are tolerated with anti -Semitism and support diversity programs, equality and division integration.”
The presidency of the University of Cornell said in a statement on Tuesday that it had received 75 order to stop work from the Ministry of Defense on research “very important for national defense, cybersecurity and health in the United States.”

One of the aforementioned grants relates to cancer research, according to the statement, while Beit Higseth indicated that eleven decades related to diversity, equality, integration, climate and response are the Kofid-19 and other “non-essential activities”.
“We need this money to improve health care for our fighters and their families, instead of paying $ 500 per hour for advisers,” he said, and the Pentagon’s budget for 2025 is about 850 billion dollars.
In February, the Minister of Defense ordered in a memorandum seen by the Washington Post, to put measures aimed at reducing the budget of his ministry by 8% annually.
