The official opening ceremony of Expo Osaka 2025 will start

Today, Japan witnessed the official opening ceremony of the Expo Osaka International Exhibition 2025, in the presence of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Massako and a crowd of invitees exceeding 1,300 guests, including ministers and ambassadors from the participating Arab and foreign countries.

The UAE participates in the exhibition, which lasts for 184 days until October 13, 2025, with a wing bearing the slogan “From Earth to Ether” and is located in the “Empowerment of Life” area, as it provides visitors with a multi -dimensional experience that combines engineering creativity and cultural wealth, and reviews the vision of the state in formulating the future of man and the planet together, as it reflects its inspiring journey that starts from the deep roots towards unlimited horizons.

The Crown Prince of Japan, Prince Akishino, who holds the honorary president of the Japan Association supervising the exhibition, gave permission to start the opening ceremony that was held on the island of “Yomenaa”, which was built specifically in the city of Osaka to hold the exhibition that bears the slogan “towards a future society in which life shines”, and opens its doors to the public tomorrow, Sunday, with record participation from 158 countries, including international organizations Japanese companies and institutions from several sectors.

The ceremony, which was held under the slogan “Expo Osaka – the design of a future society for life”, included shows at the top of the major episode, which is the large wooden structure that visitors can walk on, which is the symbol of the exhibition, in conjunction with the review of the flags of the participating countries, and providing solutions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) worldwide.

In his opening speech, the Emperor of Japan expressed his hope that the exhibition will be an opportunity for peoples to work to create a sustainable future, by reviewing the technologies of the next generation and global efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.

In turn, Prime Minister Shighgero Eshiba expressed his hope that the exhibition would reunify the world, by communicating with various cultures, describing the exhibition that extends for more than 170 years as a mirror that reflects the times, and draws the way to overcome the common challenges facing humanity.

According to the estimates of the central government in Japan, the costs of building the Expo Osaka website reached 235 billion yen (1.6 billion US dollars), while the government hopes that the number of visitors to the global event reaches more than 28 million visitors.
