The inflation rate in Saudi Arabia records 2.3% during the month of March 2025

The annual inflation rate in Saudi Arabia was 2.3% during the month of March 2025 AD, compared to the same month last year.
A report issued by the Authority said: This is due to the high prices of the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel department by 6.9%, the prices of the Food and Beverages Department by 2.0%, and the prices of the department of goods and personal services by 3.9%, compared to the decrease in the prices of the transport department by 0.8%.

The rate of inflation in Saudi Arabia

The Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and fuel department increased by 6.9%, driven by the increase in the housing rental group by 8.2%in March 2025 AD, affected by the increase in the prices of apartments rental by 11.9%.
The rise in this section had a major impact on the continuation of the annual inflation for the month of March 2025 AD, due to the weight that this section constitutes, which is (25.5%).
In the same context, the prices of the Food and Beverages Department increased by 2.0%, driven by the prices of meat and poultry by 3.8%.
The prices of the various goods and personal services department increased by 3.9% affected by the high prices of jewelry and watches of all kinds and precious antiques by 26.2%.
The prices of the restaurants and hotels department increased by 1.3%, driven by the prices of hotel services and apartments furnished by 3.3%.
The Education Department increased by 1.1%, due to the high rates of higher education fees by 4.3%.
The prices of the furnishing and home equipment department decreased by 2.6% affected by the low prices of furniture, carpets and floor covers by 4.1%.
The prices of the clothing and shoes department decreased by 0.8% affected by the decrease in the prices of ready -made clothes by 1.9%.
The price of the transport department recorded a decrease of 0.8 affected by the decrease in vehicle purchase rates by 1.5%.

High inflation

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index in March 2025 AD recorded a relative increase compared to February 2025, by 0.3%.
The housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel department increased by 0.5%, driven by the increase in the actual rental prices of housing by 0.6%.
The index witnessed an increase in the Food and Beverages Department by 0.3%, driven by the increase in vegetable prices by 2.0%.
In the same context, the prices of the various goods and personal services department increased by 0.4%, the prices of the restaurant and hotels department by 0.5%, the prices of the entertainment and culture department by 0.6%, the education department prices by 0.7%, the prices of clothes and shoes by 0.3%and the telecommunications department by 0.1%.
The index witnessed a decrease in the prices of the furnishing and home equipment department by 0.9%.
On the other hand, prices were not recorded: the transport department, the health department, and the tobacco department, that is, a relative change in March 2025.
