After 11 years .. Al -Jazeera requests a response to consider the “League Cup” from Al -Ahly youth

The attention of the sports community is heading towards the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, which will host, next Saturday evening, the final of the Professional League Cup (Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup) between the youth of Al -Ahly and Al -Jazeera.

Al-Ahly youth team aspires to crown the sixth title in the championship, after five titles obtained by the 2011-2012 seasons, 2013-2014, 2016-2017, 2018-2019 and 2020-2021, while the Al-Jazira team hopes to obtain its second title after a single title that was won by the 2009-2010 season.

Al-Ahly youth lost the title on two occasions, the first against Al-Nasr in the 2019-2020 season, with defeat (1-2), and in the 2021-2022 season, against Al-Ain by penalty shootout (5-4), after the original time ended in a tie (2-2).

As for Al-Jazeera, it lost the title on two occasions, the first against Ajman, the 2012-2013 season, (1-2), and lost the same result against Al-Ahly youth in the season (2013-2014).

Al-Ahly youth began his journey in the current version of the Professional Cup of the preliminary round, and he won over Ajman back (2-0), drew in the second leg (1-1), and he crossed the obstacle of victory in the quarter-finals, by winning him in the first leg with two goals without a response, and tied with him in the second leg (5-5), then the maximum Sharjah in the semi-finals, after defeating him in the first leg (3-1) (2-2).

As for Al-Jazeera, it exceeds the obstacle of the battles in the preliminary round by winning back (3-1), and lost in the second leg (1-2), to qualify with the total of the two games (4-3), to hit an appointment against Al-Ain in the quarter-finals, so he lost to go with a goal without a response, and won the second leg with a score (3-2), so that the two teams resort to penalty shootouts, which was decided by Al-Jazeera (4-2).

Al-Jazeera crossed the obstacle in the semi-finals, after losing to go with a goal without a response, and won the second leg (3-1).

He explained: «Some believe that the decline in the level of Al -Ahly youth in recent matches may give an indication of the island’s ability to be a competitor and enhance his chances of winning the cup, but this is a mistake in the vision, it is natural that a decline in the level of the team occurs as a result of the great effort that he made throughout the season, but what is calculated for the“ Knights of Dubai ”their ability to win even the lower party, and if the youth of Al -Ahly are retreating as some see the losing in the matches in which this matter is not counted, It is on it.
