Al-Wahda let down its fans… and lost two points against Al-Bataeh

Al-Wahda continued its disappointing results, falling into a 2-2 draw at home against its guest, Al-Bataeh, today, Thursday, at Al Nahyan Stadium, in the presence of about a thousand spectators, in the 15th round of the ADNOC Professional Football League.
Al-Anabi fans were waiting for a strong reaction from the players, following the sudden exit from the President’s Cup tournament at the hands of United, one of the first-class clubs, in addition to the technical changes that followed with the signing of Slovenian coach Darko Milanic, to succeed the Portuguese Dimas Teixeira, but hopes were dashed again.
Al-Wahda entered the match in trouble, as it found itself trailing since the 14th minute after Al-Bataeh snatched the lead through Alvaro de Oliveira, before “The Excellencies” succeeded in equalizing in the 43rd minute through Omar Khribin.
In the second half, Abdullah Hamad gave Al-Wahda the lead by scoring the second goal in the 65th minute, but the joy of the hosts did not last long, after Muhammad Jumaa Eid managed to score the equalizer for Al-Bataeh in the 77th minute.
With this result, Al-Wahda raised its score to 30 points, wasting a valuable opportunity to get close to Al-Ain, which temporarily holds second place, while Al-Bataeh added a new point to its score, bringing it to 12 points, continuing its struggle to escape the specter of relegation.
