“Biennali” .. a unique experience to see a group of rare Islamic arts

In its second edition, which is organized by the Biennial Foundation of the Diriyah Foundation under the slogan “and between them” in the Western Pilgrims Hall at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, he continues to receive its visitors until May 25, and enrich them with unique sensory experiences for learning, research and meditation in a group of rare Islamic arts.
In its second edition, the Biennial of Islamic Arts displays more than 500 pieces of Islamic history and contemporary art works under one umbrella, in an invitation to meditate on the wealth and Islamic civilization, and various forms of creative expression.
This comes in light of the broader participation of institutions, to confirm, through this expansion of its position as a global central platform for Islamic arts, gathering loaned works from the most prominent international institutions specialized in Islamic arts.

Kaaba’s honorable clothing

The Biennali provides visitors with a unique opportunity to see artifacts and artistic works from the two holy cities, Makkah Al -Mukarramah and Madinah.
The first show of its kind is witnessed by the entire Kaaba Kaaba outside Makkah Al -Mukarramah, and includes contemporary artworks for more than 30 artists from the Kingdom, the Gulf states and various parts of the world.

This participation includes 29 new artworks commissioned by the Diriyah Biennial Foundation, which embodies the efforts of the Foundation to provide a global platform for Saudi artists, and to attract artists from all over the world to the Kingdom, so that the public can interact with artistic practices and various views in contemporary art.

Archaeological and historical antiques

The works include ancient antiques, historical pieces, valuable Islamic collections, and artworks from several specialized institutions, including the Louvre Museum (Paris), the Victoria and Albert Museum (London).
In addition to collections specialized in Islamic arts and cultures coming from the Ahmed Baba Institute for Graduate Studies and Islamic Research (Timbuktu), the Islamic Art Museum (Doha), and the Turkish Institute of Manuscripts (Istanbul).

A rich cultural program

Al -Bayanali brings together institutions from the Kingdom, including the King Abdulaziz International Cultural Center in Dhahran, the King Abdulaziz Complex for Endowment Libraries in Madinah, and the King Fahd National Library in Riyadh.
The Biennial provides a cultural program that includes a series of events held throughout the exhibition period, including lectures, workshops, community initiatives, and seminars.
The opening programs for this year include initiatives, including Biennial after school, and Benali after work, with the aim of exploring the arts through practical workshops during the week, which enhances creativity and meditation.
