Suhail Al Mazrouei reveals details "Global Energy Efficiency Alliance"

Abu Dhabi, April 16/ WAM/ His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, revealed the details of the “Guess” Energy Energy “” GEEA “adopted by the Council of Ministers headed Energy efficiency rates annually by the year 2030 in line with the historical “Emirates Agreement” that was announced during the “COP28” conference, in the context of the UAE’s efforts to enhance sustainability and reduce energy consumption globally.
His Excellency said, in statements to the Emirates News Agency, “WAM”, that “the global alliance for energy efficiency” aims to improve energy efficiency globally through the implementation of unified policies and standards that support improving performance across all sectors, enhancing international cooperation to exchange knowledge and experience, and enable developing countries to implement energy efficiency solutions, and develop a global platform for exchanging policies, technologies and successful initiatives in energy efficiency, which contributes to Uplining the adoption of best practices.
He stressed that the coalition also aims to achieve radical transformations in the field of energy efficiency worldwide, by enhancing international cooperation between countries, institutions and companies, as it seeks to reduce carbon emissions and reduce the consumption of natural resources, in order to enhance the achievement of sustainable development goals and global obligations in climate work.
He explained that the launch of the coalition reflects the permanent commitment of the UAE to support global efforts to achieve the goals of sustainable development, the efforts of climate work and preserve natural resources, noting that through this alliance, it aims to provide innovative solutions and advanced technologies that support countries in achieving high energy efficiency rates, especially in areas that need support, which face challenges in obtaining financing and technological solutions.
He pointed out that the coalition is a global platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge, which allows member states an opportunity to benefit from successful experiences in enhancing energy efficiency, while contributing to developing unified tools to measure progress in energy efficiency initiatives.
He stressed that the UAE will play a leading role in this alliance by sharing our best practices and providing our partnerships with the private sector to support other members, explaining that the launch of this alliance came as a result of a global desire to raise the efficiency of energy consumption.
His Excellency called on countries and global institutions to join the coalition, noting that the UAE seeks to make the coalition a comprehensive platform for countries wishing to enhance its efforts to achieve a more sustainable future, stressing the UAE’s confidence that this global cooperation will achieve a qualitative shift in the path of energy efficiency.
For his part, His Excellency Eng. Sherif Al -Allami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, said that the “Global Energy Efficiency Alliance” confirms that energy efficiency represents a pivotal component to achieve the goals of the “Paris Climate Agreement” and the historical “Emirates Agreement” targets and future trends of member states, and through this joint cooperation between countries can improve environmental and economic performance in a sustainable manner.
He emphasized the success of the “Global Energy Efficiency Alliance” in mobilizing international efforts and achieving international consensus for the future of the sector and climate work, in a way that enhances the position of the UAE globally and contributes to building a sustainable future for humanity.
On the UAE’s contribution to the coalition, his happiness explained that the UAE will play a leadership role by transferring knowledge and best practices followed in the areas of energy efficiency, enhancing international cooperation through partnerships with the private sector, and providing technical support to member states to ensure the achievement of the coalition goals.
He stressed that the coalition contributes to the alignment of national energy strategies with global obligations to achieve carbon neutrality, by providing training and technical support to enhance national capabilities to implement energy efficiency measures.
