Abu Dhabi, April 16/ WAM/ The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with Oliver Wayman International Administrative Consulting Company, affiliated to Marsh Maclinan, “listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol ‘MMC”, announced the launch of a comprehensive report entitled “Genome Science for Elder Health Life”, as part of the activities of the Abu Dhabi International Health Week.
The report reviews the great potential provided by genome science in improving clinical results, stimulating economic growth, and supporting the strategic direction of Abu Dhabi towards developing the precision medicine system.
The report also comes consistent with the slogan “Abu Dhabi International Health Week” for this year “towards a long life: a new concept of health and wellness”, and emphasizes the leadership of the emirate in promoting the health care approach based on allocation and accuracy.
The report includes a detailed framework and an executive plan to enhance the status of genome science within the health system in Abu Dhabi, through three strategic pillars that include “technological empowerment, policy development and governance in addition to developing competencies and skills.”
These pillars contribute to building a flexible and expandable system, capable of transforming health care by providing treatment solutions based on the genetic composition for each individual.
Dr. Asmaa Ibrahim Al -Mannai, Executive Director of the Life and Health Sciences Sector in the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, said that in light of the rapid developments in the field of genome, flexibility and foresight is pivotal elements to develop balanced policies between safety, innovation and modern scientific data.
The report highlights as a clear road map, which calls on decision makers, investors and sector leaders to draw the features of the next stage of personal health care, which contributes to building a comprehensive system of genome that pushes towards leading scientific discoveries and achieving a long health life for society.
For his part, Sumit Sharma, partner and head of the Department of Health and Life Sciences at Oliver and Iman in India, the Middle East and Africa, said that Abu Dhabi’s commitment to the development of genome science reflects a qualitative shift in the path of careful medicine, and its position confirms a global center for innovation in data -based health care, reinforcing economic growth and social progress in the region, indicating that this report provides a comprehensive plan to achieve this Aspirations.
For its part, Dr. Nicole Serotin, CEO of the Institute of Health Life in Abu Dhabi, explained the first licensed center for long -standing health life in the world, and one of the contributors to preparing the report, that the report highlights the importance of integration between genome science and precise lifestyle in a way that contributes to prolonging the years of healthy life of individuals and reducing the burden on health care systems.
This importance highlights in the region, which records high rates of diabetes and cancer at an early age, and the success of Abu Dhabi in combining scientific research and clinical practice is a pioneering model for preventive and accurate health care.
The report indicates the possibility of reducing the rates of chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease by between 20% and 30%, by identifying genetic risk and over genetic and providing accurate and dedicated treatment solutions.
