On customs duties, Trump praises his negotiations with the Japanese envoy
“A great honor for me to have met the Japanese delegate to trade, great progress,” Trump wrote on his social networking site.
Mutual trust
Before the meeting, US President Donald Trump said that he will participate in the negotiations that will be held with the Japanese envoy on customs duties, after the two countries expressed their confidence in the possibility of reaching results that benefit the two sides.
Last week, Trump released a 90 -day commentary of 24% imposed on Japan, which is the largest external investor in the United States, and a close strategic and economic ally.

“Japan is coming today to negotiate customs duties, the cost of military support and commercial equity, I will participate in the meeting with the cabinet and trade ministers,” said in Trump’s publication on his platform, Truth Sushal.
He continued: “I hope to reach something good for Japan and the United States.”
A profitable result of both parties
Upon heading to the White House to hold the meeting, Japanese envoy Riosi Akazawa talked about seeking a profitable result of both parties while protecting the national interests of Japan.
“I am sure that we will be able to build a relationship that prevails in confidence and to conduct negotiations that lead to a profitable relationship for both parties.”
