The start of the preparatory runs of the Fazaa Championship for free diving “Al -Hiyari”

The preparatory stages were launched from the 18th edition of the Fazza Free Dive Championship, “Al -Hayyari”, affiliated to the Fazza Championships Department, at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival, which will be held for the third year in a row in “Deep Dave Dubai”, the deepest swimming pool in the world, with local, Gulf and global participation of the elite of specialists in this type of sport with great challenge.

With the establishment of preparatory runs and training throughout the current week, the weekend will be on the date with the conclusion of this ancient heritage championship with the establishment of the qualifiers, tomorrow, with the finals to be held next Sunday, for the three categories, namely: the open category for all nationalities, the category of citizens and the Gulf, and the junior category.

Fazza’s free diving championship continues to embody the ancient Emirati heritage, through one of the most prominent sporting events that mimic traditional diving skills, which were practiced by grandparents in the depths of the seas in search of pearls.

This annual event is one of the milestones in the agenda of the heritage championships organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival, as it continues to attract a group of professional athletes and amateurs from inside and outside the country, who are gathered by the passion for free diving, and the spirit of challenge related to the Gulf marine heritage.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Fazaa Filled Dive Championship, Hamad Ahmed Al -Rahoumi, expressed his great happiness at the extensive participation of the current version of the tournament and new faces, especially from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which reflects the increasing interest in the sport of free diving in the region, and enhances the status of the championship as a heritage and sports platform at the Arab and Gulf level.

He also expressed his pride with the participation of the first of its kind for one of the contestants with anxiety, which is Issa bin Abdullah Al -Rashidi from Saudi Arabia, stressing that this inspiring presence embodies the spirit that the management of Fazaa championships seeks to consolidate in all its activities.

Al -Rahoumi said: “We look forward to presenting an exceptional version of the championship on its website (Deep Dave Dubai), which is one of the most prominent sports and tourist destinations in the world, as this site represents as the deepest swimming pool in the world, a new challenge for the participants, and an advanced environment that suits the requirements of this sport that depends on accuracy, focus and endurance.”
