«Expo Dubai» launches a program for Emirati university students to establish their work

«Expo Dubai» launched a program for Emirati university students and graduates to establish their businesses, and the executive director of the “Expo City Dubai” Foundation, Youssef Keers, told «Emirates Today» that the number of requests for participation submitted to the program reached 148 requests, stressing that the “city” will receive the selected projects from among the applicants, within a meeting that starts on the third of May next, to help develop and improve their ideas.

Kurz revealed that the final projects chosen will receive grants of up to 50 thousand dirhams, in addition to assistance in establishing business, including licensing, visas and work spaces in the “Expo City”.

In detail, the Executive Director of the “Expo Dubai City” Foundation, Youssef Kerz, said that the (Change Makers Academy), which was launched by (Expo Dubai), has witnessed a great demand from university students and new graduates from all over the UAE, to participate in providing bold solutions to social and environmental challenges, and contribute to addressing related issues related to the UAE, among which was the urban movement, including urban movement And mental health, as part of a business incubator program. ”

Kurz added to «Emirates Today»: “The Academy aims to empower young people with ambitious ideas and projects, to direct their creativity and passion to achieve positive realistic results, through an intense and multiple stages program.”

He pointed out that he crossed an open invitation for students of the final year and new graduates from universities in the Emirates, to present their ideas that can be developed to the stage of integrated solutions, the intense and multiple stages program seeks to support society by enabling the next generation of work, and directing their creativity and passion to achieve positive realistic results.

Kurz revealed that the number of participation requests submitted to the program reached 148 requests, overcoming the target number, pointing out that the “Expo Dubai” will receive the selected projects from among the applicants within a meeting that starts on the third of next May, to help develop and improve their ideas.

He said: “We are excited to work together to explore the details of new ideas and projects, and we look forward to supporting promising initiatives to move to the next stage of the innovation and entrepreneurship journey.”

Kurz stressed that «the final projects selected will receive grants of up to 50 thousand dirhams, in addition to guidance and introducing investors and assisting in establishing business, including licensing, visas and work spaces in (Expo Dubai), stressing that it is an exceptional opportunity for young entrepreneurs aspiring to convert their ideas into commercially applicable business.

He continued: «(The Change Makers Academy) is a program from the (Expo City Dubai) Foundation, the non -profit organization launched in June 2024 with the aim of bridging the gap between people, ideas and resources, and pushing innovation and cooperation to achieve positive social, economic and environmental change.

He showed that innovation programs in «Expo 2020 Dubai» and the United Nations Climate Conference (COP 28 »showed the tremendous potential of Emirati youth, which« Expo Dubai »is supporting.

In response to a question related to the areas raised, Kurz said: “The priority fields of the academy were chosen in consultation with the Community Development Authority in Dubai, and include opportunities to improve traffic, mental luxury, balance between work and personal life, as well as environmental responsibility, and the best integration of people of determination and the elderly.”
