المملكة: With interactive experiences .. The historic Jeddah program celebrates World Heritage Day

The historic Jeddah program of the Ministry of Culture will participate in the celebration of the International Heritage Day 2025, which is organized by the Heritage Authority in Riyadh to celebrate the cultural and humanitarian heritage that the Kingdom abounds in the period from 16-21 April, within the efforts of the Ministry of Culture to enhance societal awareness of the importance of heritage protection and its preservation.
The participation of the program comes in confirmation of the role of the Ministry of Culture in protecting and reviving the urban and cultural fabric of the historical Jeddah listed in the UNESCO list, by highlighting the restoration efforts.
Providing an interactive experience that introduces visitors with crafts, architectural elements and human stories, and the use of survey code cards to display archaeological discoveries with an interactive display technology at an angle of 360 degrees, enables them to review them by default.

Society awareness of the importance of heritage

The activities of the International Day of Heritage include various programs that focus on educating the community about the importance of material and illegal heritage, among them handicraft workshops, in line with the naming of the current year 2025 in handicrafts, exhibitions of rock inscriptions, and light shows on heritage buildings.

In addition to heritage activities for children, embodying the Heritage Authority’s message in involving all groups of society in preserving the collective memory of the Kingdom.

Promote national identity

This participation is an extension of the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, which raises the value of heritage in promoting national identity and achieving sustainable development.
It also falls within its efforts to highlight the region as a heritage and cultural destination, by highlighting its historical and architectural components, and expanding its presence in the activities that are known to society with its abundant heritage and a unique cultural experience.
