The dismissal of the Federal Reserve Chief Jerome Powell

The US President does not have a direct authority to dismiss the governors of the Federal Reserve, but Trump may start a long -term operation to try to dismiss Powell by proving the existence of a reason to do so.

He repeatedly criticized the head of the federal reserve, who nominated him for his position during his first term, accusing him of politicizing his duties.

American customs duties

On Wednesday, Powell warned that the large -scale customs duties imposed by Trump on almost all commercial partners may put the federal reserve in a difficult position, as he will have to choose between treating inflation and unemployment.
On Thursday, the Republican President confirmed that he is able to force Powell to leave his position, and Trump said, “I am not satisfied with him. I informed him of that, and if I wanted him to leave, he will leave very quickly, believe me.”
