The Secretary -General expresses his deep concern about the American strikes in Yemen

Reports reported that dozens of civilian victims have fallen, including five humanitarian workers. Humanitarian aid has been mobilized to support nearby health facilities.
In a statement attributed to his spokesperson, Stephen Dujarric, the Secretary -General also expressed his concern about the reports that talk about severe damage to the infrastructure, as well as possible reports of oil leakage in the Red Sea.
The Secretary -General also expressed deep concern about the continuation of missile attacks and the attacks of the Houthi -waging aircraft against Israel and in the Red Sea, calling on the Houthis to stop these attacks immediately.
The Secretary -General stressed the necessity of full commitment to Security Council Resolution 2768 (2025) related to Houthi attacks against commercial ships and shipping carriers.
He recalled the necessity of respecting international law, including international humanitarian law, at all times, and appealed to everyone to respect and protect civilians and civil infrastructure.
The Secretary -General said that he is still very concerned about the increasing risk of escalation in the region, and continues to invite everyone to exercise the utmost restraint.
The Secretary -General also renewed his call for the immediate and unconditional release of all United Nations staff and other workers who were arbitrary by the Houthis.
