المملكة: The Kingdom and Russia enhance cooperation in municipal services and urban development

His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al -Hogail, will start next Monday, an official visit to the Russian Federation, aiming to enhance cooperation in the areas of municipal services, urban planning, and the development of the urban scene.
This comes as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to exchange experiences and build international partnerships that support the targets of Saudi cities in the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.

Saudi -Russian relations

His Excellency will hold a series of official meetings during the visit with Russian officials, most notably the Minister of Building and Housing Erik Vizulin and leaders of bodies and centers specialized in organizing cities and infrastructure.
This is to discuss the areas of cooperation in developing municipal facilities, applying the concepts of smart cities, and raising the efficiency of employment and services in the urban space.
The visit aims to take advantage of the Russian experience in managing major cities, integrating transportation, and coordinating public voids.

Urban sustainability in Saudi cities

This comes in a way that contributes to improving the quality of life, raising the efficiency of services management and promoting urban sustainability in Saudi cities.
The visit includes discussing opportunities to sign quality cooperation agreements and form joint work teams between the municipal authorities in the two countries.
This is to follow up the implementation of initiatives and exchange experiences in the areas of energy efficiency, waste management, urban afforestation and smart infrastructure, in light of the Kingdom’s readiness to host future global events.
