Dubai April 22 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Foundation for the Future, during the work of the “Dubai AI Week” announced the announcement of the launch of the “du” company project, a huge, high -range data center in the UAE at a cost of about 2 billion dirhams.
The data center is scheduled to be developed so that its capacity and absorptive capacity will increase gradually and through several stages, and the global company “Microsoft” will be the main beneficiary of the center, as it uses a large part of the absorptive capacity that it provides to operate its cloud services, and the availability of digital services that need large and advanced computing capabilities.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that the new center will constitute a distinct addition to advanced digital infrastructure in the UAE to always be the best in adopting and supporting the latest technologies, innovations and digital services.
His Highness added: The data is the wealth of the future and the pillar of technology development, and we will continue to provide the required support to all local and international companies to continue the process of making future and employ technology to serve our societies.
