Under the patronage of the President of the State, the activities of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, April 26

Abu Dhabi, April 23 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”, the 34th session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair will be held from April 26 to May 5, 2025, at the Emnik Abu Dhabi Center.
The exhibition organizes the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, affiliated with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, under the slogan “The Society of Knowledge … Knowledge of Society”, and this year will host 1400 exhibitors from 96 countries.
The event provides an integrated program that includes about 2000 activities and activity, to meet the interests of readers, thinkers, publishers and content makers, which enhances its role as a global platform for cultural dialogue, and establishes Abu Dhabi’s position a leading international destination for cognitive and creative exchange, and reflects the strategic vision of the UAE in investing in culture, supporting the book industry and publishing, and promoting dialogue between civilizations.
The current session of the exhibition celebrates the encyclopedic scientist “Ibn Sina” a pivotal figure, coinciding with the passage of a thousand years after the issuance of his book “The Law in Medicine”, which is one of the most prominent Arab scientific contributions that affected the development of medicine globally.
The exhibition witnesses dialogue sessions and interactive exhibitions that highlight Ibn Sina’s scientific legacy, and reviews his ideas, achievements and influence on human civilization.
Within the framework of the UAE’s directions to revive the Arab heritage globally, the exhibition celebrates the book “One Thousand and One Nights” as “The Book of the World”, in appreciation of its transient influence of cultures and times, and its ability to inspire writers and artists around the world.
The culture of the Caribbean Basin countries is a guest of honor to this year’s session, in a step that reflects the UAE’s commitment to strengthening global cultural partnerships, and providing rich knowledge experiences that contribute to deepening knowledge exchange between peoples, which establishes Abu Dhabi’s position as a main destination for cultural and intellectual convergence.
A group of senior writers, thinkers, publishers, and content makers from the Arab world and the world will participate in the current session of the exhibition, to present a variety of events that meet the aspirations of the public, and enhance the international presence of cultural events in Abu Dhabi distributed over five main axes, society, fantasy, sustainability, Arab science, and artificial intelligence And innovation.
His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center said: “The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is established by the pioneering site that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi occupies a global destination based on innovation and creativity.”
He added: “The current session allocates a wide area to celebrate the Arab heritage, by highlighting the book (Law in Medicine) by the great scholar Ibn Sina, the central figure of the exhibition, on the occasion of a thousand years since its authorship, as a witness to the genius of Arab medicine, in addition to highlighting the book (Thousand and One Nights), which is considered a link to a civilized and aesthetic link between the East and West within the initiative (the book of the world) The culture of the Caribbean Basin countries is a guest of honor for this year as a culmination of its knowledge distinction in the fabric of global culture, and the belief that cultural dialogue is the optimal cooperation bridge between nations.
His Excellency stressed that the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is always keen on serving the community by enhancing its members ’relationship with the Arabic language, and contributing to supporting the movement of Arab creative industries through the use of digital technology and artificial intelligence to develop the publishing industry, through specialized programs and workshops and seminars that look forward to the future of the book, attract world experts, and accompany the latest qualitative and global transformations in this vital sector that has become one of the most prominent Economy components, and development axes.
For the first time, the exhibition is launched “The Council of Poets … the Council of Nights of Poetry” and lasts for 10 days to celebrate the creations of poetry in its eloquent and Nabati apartments in exceptional literary dialogues, in addition to the continuation of the “Podcast from Abu Dhabi” program in its third season, which offers qualitative cultural content that monitors the transformations of the literary scene.
In line with its renewed vision, the exhibition launches the first edition of the “Digging Creativity” conference to explore the intelligence integrity with the arts, and the impact of modern technologies in the content industry, through specialized sessions that discuss the latest developments in the fields of publishing and creative production, to draw the features of the future of cultural industries.
The exhibition offers its visitors a comprehensive cultural artistic experience that varies between cooking, cinema and photography, as the “Black Fund Cinema” is shown in short Arabic films that address contemporary cultural issues, in addition to a live music program, workshops in photography and film industry, as well as the experience of “dishes and cultures”, which explore global flavors.
The exhibition dedicates children and young people interactive spaces that celebrate the Arabic language; The “Children’s Oasis” and “Alpha Corner” offer educational workshops that combine entertainment and knowledge, and the programs for young people provide scientific and creative experiences to enhance their skills, and document their connection to their cultural heritage.
The event continues to embrace global cultures through the “Guest of Honor Pavilion”, which highlights literature, arts and music for the guest country, along with the “Corner of Signatures” in which the public meets their favorite writers, and “under the shadows of Ghaf” that embraces exceptional literary dialogues with the authors, while the publisher “the lobby” and the content makers collect to enhance cooperation in the publishing sector.
The professional program of the exhibition represents a platform to support the publishing sector and creative industries, by keeping pace with the latest developments in the field, including artificial intelligence and digital technologies, with the aim of promoting the sustainability of the Arab and global publishing industry, and facilitating communication between publishers, creators and cultural institutions, which establishes Abu Dhabi’s position as a global center for publication and knowledge, and the program, through the initiatives of partners, highlights the contributions of government and private institutions in The cultural scene, to enhance the unique experience of visitors, and neutralizes the ties between the world literary society.
In the context of supporting the Arabic language, the exhibition launches innovative initiatives that encourage reading and creativity, in line with the community initiative to support sustainable reading emanating from the vision of the UAE and Abu Dhabi to build a reader society capable of producing Arabic content that keeps pace with the digital age, through caring for emerging literary talents, and enriching the Arab library with recent versions.
