Global humanitarian leaders meet in Dubai to enhance dialogue and build partnerships

Dubai, April 24/ WAM/ The activities of the twenty -first session of the Dubai International Relief and Development Exhibition and Conference “Dihad” will start on April 29 and will continue until the first of next May at the Dubai World Trade Center, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him.
More than 18,000 visitors and representatives of 160 countries participate in the event, along with the presence of a group of global humanitarian leaders, to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences on the future of aid and sustainable development.
The event is held this year under the slogan “Development and Humanitarian Aid in a world of divisions”, highlighting the most urgent issues in the humanitarian field, including conflicts, finance, climate change and Emiratisation, with the participation of non -governmental organizations, United Nations agencies, charitable institutions and government agencies.
Switzerland is the guest of honor of the current session, in honor of its leadership role in supporting humanitarian work globally, while the exhibition is witnessing the participation of wings from several countries that include Norway, Denmark, Poland, Zambia, Qatar, Kuwait and China, in addition to wings dedicated to the United Nations and the International Red Cross, which enhances Dihad’s position as a global platform for dialogue and integration.
His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Abdel Salam Al -Madani, President of the Sustainable Dihad Organization, Speaker of “Desap”, Ambassador of the Mediterranean Parliament in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, said Dihad continues to perform his pioneering role as a platform that brings together the most prominent actors in the humanitarian field from all over the world to enhance dialogue and build partnerships.
He stressed that cooperation between the public and private sectors is no longer an option, but rather an imperative to accelerate the delivery of aid, raise the efficiency of the response and expand the scope of sustainable solutions.
He added that the future of humanitarian work is built on the basis of real communication not only between countries, but between various sectors, so that we can build a more sustainable and comprehensive future.
The event is witnessing this year the launch of the “Dihad government platform”, a new initiative that provides direct communication opportunities between senior government officials and decision -makers, allowing the expansion of the circle of dialogue on global challenges and finding strategic solutions to it.
The Ambassador of the Permanent delegation of the Mediterranean Parliament to the United Nations, said this year Dihad this year focuses on the increasing challenges facing actors in the humanitarian aid sector, and aims to find applicable solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of delivering aid.
Participants of prominent speakers, including His Excellency Kate Forbes, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), His Excellency Mrs. Oguchi Daniels, Deputy Director General of Operations at the International Organization for Migration “IOM”, His Excellency Ambassador Patricia Danzi, General Manager of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation “SDC”, His Excellency Panos Mumtzis, Executive Director of the initiative Global Executive Command, His Excellency Mary Kevinimi, former Prime Minister of Finland, Arwa Damon, Inara Organization, and previous correspondence in “CNN”, as well as a number of opinion leaders in the humanitarian field.
The conference will discuss several strategic axes that include disputes and the development of humanitarian principles, the changing scene in financing, globalization and Emiratisation, climate change, and population displacement, as it will focus in particular on the “Charter for the Future” and its impact on the humanitarian aid and development system.
The activities of “Dihad 2025” coincide with the sixteenth session of the IECM International Conference and International Conference and Exhibition – which displays the latest innovations and services in the fields of rescue, preparedness and response to emergency situations.
