"Sharjah Museums" and"University of International Studies" They enhance their partnership on the program "Together"

Sharjah, April 24 / WAM / The Sharjah Museums Authority held a coordination meeting with the University of World Studies – Africa Institute, to follow up on ways to develop cooperation within the framework of the “Sawa” museum science program, which aims to build the capabilities of workers in the museum and enhance the exchange of experiences between specialized institutions locally and internationally.
The meeting comes in the wake of the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties in October 2024, in a move that strengthens the academic and professional partnership within the “Sawa” program, which started its career more than ten years ago, and is one of the first educational initiatives specialized in museum science in the region.
His Excellency Aisha Rashid Demas, Director General of the Sharjah Museums Authority, Dr. Salah Mohamed Hassan, Director of the University of International Studies and Dean of the Africa Institute, was attended by a number of representatives of the two sides.
The meeting aims to put the outlines of the upcoming program version for the academic year 2025-2026, which still receives participation requests until May 23, 2025, and it is expected to witness more cultural and knowledge diversity among the participants.
His Excellency Aisha Rashid Demas said that the “Sawa” program is developed for more than a decade, in developing the cadres working in museums by providing innovative museum practices that enhance cultural and knowledge exchange and embody our partnership with the Africa Institute for a new chapter of the march of this pioneering program, which establishes Sharjah’s position as a central destination in the field of museum education and preserving cultural heritage.
For his part, Dr. Salah Mohamed Hassan said that this partnership enables us to build cognitive bridges that combine African, Arab and international visions, in a way that contributes to the development of the multidisciplinary museum education, and expands from the prospects of scientific research in this vital field.
