المملكة: Qatif .. various initiatives to celebrate the environment week and in support of Saudi Arabia

The Technical College in Al -Qatif Governorate organized an integrated program to celebrate the environment week for the year 2025, which is held under the national slogan, “Our Environment is a treasure”.
These activities come in line with the annual awareness initiative launched by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, with the aim of consolidating environmental awareness and enhancing sustainable practices among all segments of society in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Motivating responsibility towards the environment

The college stressed that celebrating this week is an important occasion and a national campaign to increase and stimulate individual and collective responsibility towards the environment, stressing the importance of preserving precious natural resources.
Organized activities aim to enhance positive behaviors supporting the environment and active contribution to achieving environmental sustainability, in a way that is to build a conscious and responsible generation, capable of playing a positive role in protecting the environment and preserving its resources for future generations.
These activities contribute to raising the level of awareness of the employees of the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training to the importance of preserving the environment, and facing the challenges of desertification and climate change by increasing the vegetation.
The college also encourages innovation in environmental contributions of a technical nature, in order to activate the initiative of Saudi Arabia’s green clubs emanating from the ambitious Saudi Green Initiative launched by His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister and head of the Supreme Committee of Saudi Arabia.

Various seedlings to increase the green patch

Within the framework of the practical program, the College Public Services Department, headed by Mohamed Al -Ruwaie, implemented a campaign to plant seedlings in fruitful cooperation with the Office of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Qatif Governorate.
The campaign witnessed the presence of representatives of the office, namely the engineer Hussein Affen, Maitham Al -Hayek, Hakim Al -Nasiri, Ali Al -Saleh, Reda Al -Mohsen and Ahmed Sawad.
The campaign included cultivating various seedlings to increase the green area inside the college campus, in addition to cleaning and arranging tree and herbal cuts, with the active participation of the volunteer team from the college trainees.

“Save Tree” campaign

In parallel, the activity center of the college, led by Professor Jawad Al -Muhaisen, organized his distinctive annual campaign to rotate the paper under the title “Save a tree”.
The volunteer team and members of the scouts, with the participation of all employees of the college from trainers and administrators, collected the papers used and intended for recycling from various offices and departments, in preparation for donating them to the relevant charitable societies.
For his part, the dean of the college, Eng. Hafez Al -Ghamdi, stressed the great importance to activate such qualitative activities, stressing its pivotal role in spreading environmental awareness and consolidating its values ​​among the trainees and members of the local community.
Eng. Al -Ghamdi thanked and appreciated all the participants in the success of the activities of the Environment Week, and thanked the Office of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Qatif Governorate for their usual cooperation and their permanent response to the college activities and community initiatives.
