Archive and the National Library display innovative projects in artificial intelligence "Abu Dhabi Book"

Abu Dhabi, April 27/ WAM/ The Archive and the National Library enriched it in the thirty -fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair with a special corner that highlights innovative projects in the field of artificial intelligence.
This comes as part of his endeavor to take advantage of artificial intelligence as an effective tool to improve and preserve management and archive management operations, and to achieve efficiency and organization in this field.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of Archive and the National Library said: “Our participation in this exhibition confirms our keenness to keep pace with modern science, especially artificial intelligence, and its application in the work of the archive and the national library that revolves around the collection and preservation of the history of the UAE and facilitate access to future generations, at a time when the UAE is witnessing leadership in the field of artificial intelligence.”
He added that the use of artificial intelligence in the archive includes innovative projects such as translating and emptying oral history interviews, copying oral and digital materials, and knowing similar images .. He said: “We are confident that artificial intelligence carries enormous future promises, despite the challenges that we are working to overcome.”
Among the most prominent projects offered by the platform “Nlagpt” is a smart system that works within a safe environment, without relying on external cloud services, which ensures that sensitive information is not leaked to the Internet.
The system contributes to increasing employee productivity by providing a smart assistant to support daily tasks such as formulating correspondence, summarizing documents, and answering inquiries immediately and safely, which reduces the time taken in repeated work and allows employees to focus on strategic work.
Also among the projects is the “discharge and translation system”, which is an effective tool that supports researchers and historians, as the user enables the conversion of audio and video files into written texts that can be modified and research, depending on advanced techniques in identifying speech in Arabic and foreign languages.
These systems are based on machine learning techniques and feed with huge data to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the outputs.
The main application of the archive and the national library that collects 13 applications in one application, and includes distinct versions such as the Volumes of the Diary of the Honorable Sheikhs and the Sheikh Zayed Voice Library, which focuses this year on the words of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul” and are consistent with the “Year of Society”.
