We refuse to bring our lands as “gifts” to Putin with the aim of ending the war

Ukrainian President Foludmir Zellinski refused to present any Ukrainian land as a “gift” to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, with the aim of ending the war, saying that there is a tendency for Washington to recognize Moscow’s sovereignty over Ukrainian regions it occupied.
“We all want this war to end in a fair form, without gifts to Putin, especially lands,” Zellinski said during a regional summit.

4 Ukrainian regions

Russia is partially occupied by 4 regions in southern and eastern Ukraine, which declared its annexation in 2022, namely Donetsk, Logansk, Zaburigia, and Khairsson.
Also, in 2014, the Crimea was included after intervention of its private forces, and a referendum condemned Kiev and the Western countries.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that international recognition of the annexation operations is a “duty” condition to end the invasion of Ukraine, which started in 2022.
The Donald Trump administration is seeking to end the war as soon as possible, and the media reported that there is a tendency to recognize Russia’s sovereignty over Crimea and push Ukraine to abandon it.
Zelinski has repeatedly stressed in recent days that Kiev is a similar possibility, but Trump said on Sunday that the position of Ukrainian President in this regard may change.
