Regional dust storms: 61 dust hours were recorded in the countries of the region


Declare The Regional Center for Dust and Sand Storms recorded 61 hours of dust incidents in the countries of the region during the day of June 3, 2026, which included dust and sand storms and cases of dust and dust raised, as part of the continuous monitoring and follow-up of weather phenomena affecting air quality and horizontal visibility.

The Center explained that Uzbekistan topped the countries of the region in terms of the number of hours of recorded dust incidents at 20 hours, followed by Iran. With 17 hours, then Turkmenistan with 9 hours, while Pakistan recorded 5 hours, and Kazakhstan 4 hours.

He added that Egypt and Jordan recorded 3 hours each of dust cases during the same period, while no hours of dust cases were recorded in the rest of the countries of the region.

The center confirmed that these data come within the regional monitoring system that aims to follow up on developments in dust phenomena. And sandstorms, analyzing their patterns of spread, and supporting early warning efforts and reducing their environmental and health impacts, in a way that contributes to enhancing the preparedness of the concerned authorities and raising the level of awareness of the risks associated with these phenomena.

The center indicated that monitoring, research and warning work will continue in cooperation with the relevant national and regional authorities, to follow developments and provide accurate information about dust and sand storm activity in the region.
