Abu Dhabi, April 30 / WAM / A recent research study conducted by “Hayyak in Abu Dhabi”, the tourism identity of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, revealed inspiring visions about the aspirations of children for their dreams.
The results of the study, which surveyed the opinions of more than 7,000 children between the ages of 5 and 12, accompanied by their parents from 9 countries around the world, which are the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, France, Italy, Germany, China, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and India, showed that the desire to form new friendships tops their list of wishes during holidays by 90%.
The study indicates that children’s imagination plays a pivotal role in choosing their tourist destinations, as 89% of the participants stated that their ideal vacation is the one that gives them the opportunity to indulge in their imaginative worlds derived from their favorite video games or films, and these young travelers are not satisfied with watching, but rather to imagine themselves part of these virtual worlds.
Commenting on the results of the study, His Excellency Nouf Mohamed Al -Bushleibi, Executive Director of the Marketing and Strategic Communication Sector in the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said: We conducted this study to obtain a comprehensive and more clear vision for the “list of wishes” children during the holidays, and its results inspired us, as children expressed their desire to communicate with new cultures, make friends, go through exciting adventures, and live their favorite stories, indicating that Abu Dhabi, with its exceptional experiences and generosity of its original hospitality, is the ideal destination for achieving these dreams and enjoying every moment with their families.
The study revealed a diversity in children’s wishes according to their countries. In the UAE, adventures topped the list of wishes by 98%, while 3 out of every 4 children in India expressed their desire to visit museums, and in the United Kingdom, 94% of children prioritize activities that they can share with their friends, and German children showed interest in cultural cooking experiences by 84%, while 89% of Chinese children preferred to relax Play and tourist tours, and Italian children were distinguished by their curiosity to try new activities by 95%, while 97% of French children were attracted to water activities, and in Saudi Arabia, 82% of children expressed their interest in experimenting with various activities, while 85% of children in the United States preferred to play fictional roles.
While 85% of children are looking for opportunities to perform fictional roles, Abu Dhabi highlights the diversity of their cultural and recreational experiences and their natural landmarks as an ideal destination for families and children, as they meet their various aspirations through activities such as starting in the Yas Marina Circuit, animal meeting in the Emirates Zoo, and living the adventures of superheroes in the world of Warner Broser Island Abu Dhabi, in addition to exploration of art Interactive in “Tim Phenomina” in the cultural area of Saadiyat and discovering the secrets of nature at the upcoming Abu Dhabi Natural History Museum, and getting to know the history and culture of the Emirates in the National Museum of Zayed, which is expected to open in the future, which honors the immortal values of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul.”
The study asked children to design their dreams for seven days, which included a mixture of cultural activities, adventures, creative play, enjoyment of nature and relaxation, providing parents an ideal plan for their children’s holiday in Abu Dhabi that meets all their interests.
