Sharjah, May 2/ WAM/ Sharjah Public Libraries, in cooperation with the Sharjah Heritage Institute, organized yesterday the “Tales of Heritage Tales” event in the Hafeeh Reserve to preserve the nature of the Environment and Natural Reserves Authority, targeting children of the 6-13 age group, as part of its cultural program to celebrate the 100 -year anniversary of the establishment of Sharjah libraries.

The event came under the axis of “cultural civilization”, with the aim of instilling heritage values ​​in the hearts of children, and introducing them to the Emirati heritage, through three interactive stations that blended the narrative, handicrafts and recreational activities.

Iman Bushleibi, director of the Sharjah Public Library Department, said that the event reflects the role of libraries as knowledge of knowledge and platforms for preserving and transferring cultural, scientific and historical heritage, especially for children, pointing out that the celebration of Sharjah libraries is a celebration of cultural bridges that spanned a century and continued to link generations to their identity and enhance their belonging to the homeland.

The event started with a discussion workshop entitled “The Story School”, which highlights the value of popular tales as a art of child literature, which helps children to acquire knowledge and skills, and contributes to instilling noble values ​​and correct paths in them, by listed heritage tales written by Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Muslim, head of the Sharjah Institute of Heritage, and discussing their heritage vocabulary with children to introduce them to the cultural and societal heritage.

The second station included an interactive workshop entitled “Heritage Fashion”, which targeted the education of children with heritage arts in three pillars where children in the “Al -Tali Corner” got acquainted with the ancient heritage in making heritage clothes and learned the basics of the following and its uses, while the “UAE Kandora Corner” targeted the transplantation of the Emirati identity in the hearts of the boys by introducing them to their national costume. For girls and introduce them to the types and designs of the traditional traditional.

The last event stations included organizing heritage competitions for children in cooperation with the “Sharjah Institute of Heritage” in the “Entertainment Corner” in an interesting educational and educational style, as the children participating in the competition interacted and answered the questions related to the Emirati heritage and identity, and the event concluded its activities by honoring the winners.

The Sharjah Libraries Centenary program extends over a full year, and includes a series of events that highlight the role of libraries in promoting knowledge, documenting cultural heritage, and consolidating reading as a basic axis in daily life, which combines intellectual discussions, cultural tours and interactive workshops with the participation of a group of writers, specialists and researchers and in cooperation with a group of cultural institutions in the country.
