المملكة: “Palm” reopens the door for registration in the date purchase program

The National Center for Palm and Dates announced a new opportunity for small palm farmers who were unable to register for the “Purchase of Dates” program for the 2025 season during the first period, indicating that the new registration process will pass through 3 main stages to ensure the achievement of the program’s goals in supporting farmers and enhancing good agricultural practices.
The first stage, which started last week, focused on verifying the applicants to meet the primary registration conditions, which includes that the applicant be a Saudi national, at least 21 years old, and that he has a valid “exclusive” agricultural record, and that the number of palm trees with its farm does not exceed 500 palm trees and an area of 50 dunums.
As of today, the second stage designated for attending workshops and training will start, and will continue until the twenty -fifth of next June.

Completion of training

This stage aims to raise the awareness of their farmers and employment with proper agricultural practices and improve productivity, in which it is required to attend workshops dedicated to farm owners or tenants, and another for employment, in addition to completing training through the palm academy and electronic dates and obtaining a water rationalization certificate.
As for the third and final stage, it includes the field evaluation visits to farms and withdrawing samples from the crop, and starts on the fourteenth of May and will continue until the first of August.

“Palm” reopens the door for registration in the date purchase program

This stage aims to verify the application of good agricultural practices, and it requires passing a certificate “Saudi Gap” or the Saudi Dates mark, and the success of sampling analysis to ensure quality, matching standards and free of pesticide residues.
It is noteworthy that the “Purchase of Dates” program represents one of the important support initiatives for small farmers, as their dates are purchased at preferential prices conditioned by the application of modern irrigation systems to rationalize water consumption. After receiving the dates, the center produces it and prepares it to distribute it to the beneficiaries in the various emirates of the Kingdom through more than 450 associations, in addition to shipping them as gifts from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques inside and outside the Kingdom.
