Humanitarian society rejects an “dangerous” Israeli plan to use humanitarian aid “as a pressure method”

In a statement issued today, Sunday, the team – headed by the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator – said that Israeli officials have sought to close the current aid distribution system managed by the United Nations and its humanitarian partners “On the delivery of supplies through Israeli centers on conditions set by the Israeli army, once the government agrees to reopen the crossings.”
The statement said that the Israeli authorities – over nine weeks – prevented all supplies to enter Gaza “Regardless of its importance for people to survive.” He pointed out that this situation led to the closure of societal bakeries and kitchens, the depletion of supplies from the warehouses of humanitarian organizations and the spread of hunger among children.
The humanitarian team is a strategic authority to make decisions, led by the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in the occupied Palestinian territory, and it includes heads of international and international NGOs.
The Qatari humanitarian team said in its statement: “The design of the plan submitted to us means that large parts of Gaza – which includes the less powerful and vulnerable people – will remain without supplies. It contradicts international humanitarian principles … It is dangerous, pushing civilians to military areas to obtain subsistence shares, threatens lives, including humanitarian workers, and increases the consolidation of forced displacement.”
The Secretary -General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and emergency relief coordinator, Tom Fletcher, has made clear that the organization will not participate in any plan that does not adhere to global humanitarian principles: humanity, integrity, independence and impartiality.
Unanimously, the heads of all United Nations bodies and non -governmental organizations affiliated with the Qatari humanitarian team affirmed their support for this position.
They said that human work He responds to people’s needs wherever they are.Stressing again that their teams are still in Gaza and are ready to expand the scope of supplies and basic services, including food, water, health, nutrition, protection, and others.
پييي الشخعم | “We have large stocks ready to enter as soon as the closure is lifted. We urge world leaders to use their influence to achieve this. It is time.”
