Kinda Alloush talks about her husband, Amr Youssef, and compares acting in Syria and Egypt

As part of its ninth session, the Aswan Women’s Film Festival honored the Syrian star Kinda Alloush for her prominent cinematic artistic career, in appreciation of her works that she presented in Syrian and Egyptian cinema.

The Syrian star considered her honor an achievement added to her career, during the honorary symposium organized by the festival, and was moderated by the journalist writer Hassan Abu El -Ela, recalling her artistic beginnings that started since her studies at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus, and said: “My first appearance in the cinema was with Hatem Ali in a short movie, and I do not see stardom as a fundamental matter. While my first movie in Egypt was (Uncle’s children), after Sharif Arafa came to Syria to choose actors, so I went to the experience, and presented the role of a Palestinian girl, along with the stars: Karim Abdel Aziz, Mona Zaki and Sharif Mounir ».

Regarding the difference between Egyptian and Syrian cinema, Alloush said: The difference lies in the interaction of the public with the topics, which concern each society, and indicated that there are differences in the film industry within every country, saying: “Some present festivals films, others present films to the public and the street, and every director has its vision.”

Regarding her international experiences, such as her participation in the movie “The two swimmers” with director Sally Al -Husseini, which represents an inappropriate production in Arab cinema, she said: “What distinguishes these films is that they are all directed by women, the first of which is (the two swimmers), which is a true story, a distinctive and new experience and global production, and its humanitarian cause for my level; Because it belongs to Syria and refugees, and the second film is (displacement) on the issue of the displacement of the Syrians at home from the impact of the destruction left by the war. She won a prize in Venice. As for the third movie (Woody Bus); It is a new experience with stars from India, and with an American director, where I found a new language, and a new way of dealing, as if I had a workshop with all these. ”

The Syrian star, Kinda Alloush, described her husband, the Egyptian artist Amr Youssef, as her first supporter personally and professionally, indicating: “Amr is very supportive for me and gives me confidence, because I am concerned all the time and do not make decisions easily, and he helps me in that with love and sincerity, as he behaves positively all the time, and a smiling no matter how he suffers from pressure, and does not feel it.”

Asked about what the Egyptian cinema is lacking to reach the world, Kinda explained: “The Egyptian cinema does not detract. Indian cinema has reached the world with privacy and local details. Just as Radwan Al -Kashef (the sweat of dates) presented, or Khairi Bishara presented (a bitter day and a sweet day), the more the films resemble people, the closer to the world, with the direction of diversity also between the comedian, the action and the emotional ».

On her journey of initial choices for freedom and daring decision -making, Kinda Alloush said: “I was not taking professional acting profession. At the beginning, I used to work spontaneously and spontaneously, so I put my soul in the role, for there are those who wear masks to provide roles, but in every role I feel every detail, and I embody it as part of my soul, and I have given priority to my house and my family after marriage, even after I returned to act recently ».
