Sultan Ibrahim Al -Juaid, Assistant Attorney General of the Federal Public Prosecution, stressed that the UAE is steadily moving towards developing an advanced legal structure capable of keeping pace with the rapid transformations in the field of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
He pointed out in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” on the sidelines of the summit of governance of emerging technologies that conclude its work today in Abu Dhabi, that the Public Prosecution pays great attention to modernizing its legislation in line with the requirements of the digital age, by enhancing the legal governance of data, protecting privacy, and identifying responsibilities for artificial intelligence tools, whether in the stages of design, programming or operation.
He explained that traditional legislation is no longer sufficient to confront technical challenges, which requires the formulation of flexible laws based on ethical standards, and guarantees safe and responsible use of technology, especially with regard to cybersecurity and controlling digital crimes.
He pointed out that the Public Prosecution launched its future strategy 2025-2030, which comes within the vision of the public prosecutor for the year 2045, stressing that the strategy also aims to develop national competencies and qualify them to keep pace with the future, and ensure the readiness of the justice system for investigation and accountability according to the highest technical standards in an integrated digital environment.
In detail about the strategy, the Attorney General, Counselor Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim bin Ahmed, head of the Ajman Prosecution, that the strategy of the artificial intelligence of the Public Prosecution 2025-2030 represents a qualitative shift in the development of judicial work, as it aims to build an integrated, proactive and smart system, is based on the effective use of data in predicting crime patterns and resources efficiently.
He added that the strategy is based on several main axes, most notably the integration of artificial intelligence technologies in the various stages of judicial work, including investigation and analysis, in order to provide accurate recommendations that support the judicial decision industry, in addition to providing smart digital services to dealers that depend on interactive interfaces based on artificial intelligence, which enhances the efficiency of access to justice.
Ibn Ahmed said that the strategy not only aims to improve internal improvement, but rather seeks to present a new, more transparent justice model, shortening time, ensuring fair justice based on digital evidence and smart analysis, and establishes an innovative judicial model that responds to the challenges of the digital age.
