Experts and citizens – who have fought the driving experiences, either with land travel to neighboring countries, or during their tourist tours outside the country – identified five main reasons that lead to road accidents for citizens, foremost of which is the difference in the geographical environment and traffic systems in these destinations from the in effect in the Emirates, and not estimating the road risks, especially when the driving experience outside the country is the first.

Within its awareness efforts, the Ministry of Interior directed instructions for land travelers during the summer, to maintain their safety on the road, which included adhering to traffic and traffic laws, not being busy with the road, taking a break, and not driving continuously, and avoiding the excessive load.

In detail, citizens identified five main reasons behind the road accidents that citizens are exposed to during the driving of vehicles outside the state, which is the difference of vehicle driving systems (such as the presence of the steering wheel in the right side), which is blessed The sinner, and the lack of appreciation of the risks and surprises of the unusual road (such as the appearance of a loose orientation of roads), and finally driving for long hours without taking a break.

The citizen (Abu Sultan) said that he used to travel for many years, adding that the driver bears a major responsibility in the accidents that occur during these trips.

He attributed the causes of accidents to recklessness, excessive speed and sudden transgression of vehicles and trucks, noting that “some are trying to shorten the time of the trip and the length of the road, so it exceeds a number of vehicles simultaneously in a dangerous way, and the reasons are increasing the speed on the road scheduled, which exposes it to severe collision accidents with the upcoming vehicles, especially during the night.”

He mentioned reasons, such as preoccupation with the phone while driving, not taking enough sleep, and driving for long hours without rest, stressing the importance of intensifying awareness -raising awareness of lands by adhering to safety guidelines and preventing accidents.

The citizen (Abu Rashid) said that he used to drive the vehicle in the European tourist destinations that he goes to, especially since he is always with his family, and he needs a car to facilitate the movement, pointing out that “the most important way is the ways there is that they are organized and are not very different from the existing in the Emirates, as well as awareness and traffic culture among drivers.”

He pointed out that “some tourists fall into traffic violations, especially those who come for the first time, and they may be deceived by large sums as a result of lack of adherence to the laws, such as not linking the belt or lack of commitment to the speed of the road”, pointing out that “adherence to traffic and traffic laws in tourist destinations is the main factor in avoiding accidents and traffic violations.”

The citizen (Abuhaza) considered that one of the most prominent challenges of driving abroad is the difference in traffic systems and the geographical environment, pointing out that “there are countries where the vehicle’s wheel in the right side, which may cause confusion to some drivers, and that there are European countries that do not light their highways at night, and are satisfied with placing phosphorous marks, with the aim of raising the increase in the driver’s focus on the road.”

For his part, the traffic expert, the general manager of the “Saed” association, Dr. Jamal Salem Al -Amiri, stressed the need to inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before traveling by land, air or sea, through the service of “my presence”, the determination of the destination and the number of family members accompanying and the duration of the visit.

Al -Amiri stressed the importance of travelers by land while driving for long distances, which reach consecutive days, through good planning of the trip, and knowing traffic and passing laws in the intended destinations, or transients, as well as the map and path of the trip, and the expected risks during the trip.

He stressed the need to adhere to legal speeds, and pay attention to the surprises of the road.

He stated that “some incidents occur due to the lack of well -maintaining the vehicle,” calling for a mechanical examination, and inspected tires to find out how suitable for the march on snow, rock areas, highlands, or during continuous rains, as it is one of the main causes of road accidents.

Traveling by land

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the National Center for Research and Rescue of the National Guard, the Air Force and Air Defense Command, and the UAE embassy in Muscat, in mid -July, implemented the mission of an air ambulance for Emirati people, after suffering an eloquent traffic accident while they were in the sister Sultanate of Oman, which resulted in severe injuries and deaths.

The ministry renewed its call to the citizens of the state to be careful while traveling and traveling by land, committing to traffic laws and regulations, and making sure to adhere to the specified speed in order to preserve their safety and the safety of others.
