Schools are open workshops .. Maintenance leads preparations

With the beginning of the new academic year 2024-2025, private schools in various emirates of the country turn into open workshops, in a race with time to complete their final preparations.

A number of school administrators confirmed to «Emirates Today» that the return scene is not limited to the schedules of classes or book lists, but extends to the depth of the infrastructure, where the maintenance work and facilities are prepared for the list of priorities, as it is the cornerstone of a safe and attractive educational environment.

The Emirates Today monitored a number of schools before the start of the academic year, scheduled for August 25, as the movement in private schools looked like a beehive: technical teams, technical equipment, internal and external updates, and comprehensive cleaning, in preparation for receiving students and educational cadres in a new station of their educational career.

“The preparations include comprehensive maintenance of air conditioning systems, the examination of security and safety systems, the modernization of class equipment, and the restoration of infrastructure facilities, such as toilets and external squares.”

“The concept of school maintenance exceeds the limits of seasonal cleaning to an integrated strategic vision, aiming to provide an environment that stimulates learning and growth.”

He added that «maintenance is a preventive auxiliary process during which technical tools are used to discover faults before they happen.

Walid Fouad Lafi, Director of Administrative Affairs in the “National Schools” group, stressed that effective maintenance does not start in the summer, but rather since the beginning of each academic year.

He explained that «the group adopts an institutional approach based on the development of annual maintenance plans, documenting operations, and preventing preventive maintenance, in addition to training technicians on smart facilities management systems (CMMS), to monitor breakdowns and track maintenance digital.

A number of school principals stated that they are currently racing against the maintenance work, pointing out that they do not exclude the application of learning remote Maintenance, using clear performance indicators that measure the quality of implementation and cost, and its impact on the student’s comfort and the progress of the educational process.
