Al -Watani defines 7 recommendations to enhance the administration and sustainability of the endowment and zakat funds

The report of the Technology, Energy, Mineral Resources Affairs and Utilities Committee of the Federal National Council, regarding the government’s policy regarding the management and sustainability of the endowment and Zakat funds and enhancing its societal role, has set 7 recommendations to enhance the use of Zakat funds to enhance the quality of life, and to manage the endowment fund Islamic insurance by extracting zakat funds, mechanisms for distributing them and adopting innovative and unconventional methods.

The recommendations included an increase in the numbers of experts specialized in the endowment investment sector, talent and expert polarization, unifying the procedures and standards of endowment, especially building mosques in the emirates of the state, and preparing a map that explains the geographical distribution in the distribution of endowment funds, in addition to diversifying the fields of investment in the endowment to achieve its sustainability and contribute to social development to support the stability of families.

The committee pointed out that there are a number of challenges that include the need to encourage individuals and institutions to perform the obligatory zakat and raise the awareness role of the authority, increase the effectiveness of its efforts and initiatives towards the private sector, and to unify the policies and controls of the payment of Zakat funds between charitable institutions and provide a unified database for customers who are entitled to Zakat or Zakat’s motivation for charitable institutions in the state.
