المملكة: Pictures | Agricultural robot and a system of predicting carbon emissions … innovations at the “green homeland” forum in Dammam

Najah Al -Muhaimid, Director of the Community Partnership Department at the University, explained that the forum embodied the importance of societal solidarity to achieve environmental development goals, as the participation of twenty entities from inside and outside the university witnessed.
During the forum, three qualitative initiatives were launched for this year, targeting the spread of a culture of recycling among members of society, in addition to reducing electronic and paper waste.
The activities of the forum also included rich dialogue sessions and a direct artistic show presented by one of the artists, in which environmental values embodied a contemporary artistic vision.
Participate students’ opinions
In a related context, a number of participating students expressed the importance of the forum and their role in it. Where the student, Tami Al -Hajri, from the University’s College of Engineering, stated that his participation in the forum came with the aim of clarifying the importance of the environment in our daily life by developing goals that specialize in preserving air, water and soil, and paying attention to the impact of harmful emissions on the environment.
For his part, the student, Hassan Al Hubail, stated that his participating project is a system that predicts carbon dioxide emissions before they occur in the airspace.
He pointed out that these emissions are witnessing a remarkable increase, and its project works to help companies reduce and control these emissions, which helps to avoid many possible environmental problems.
The problems of the agricultural sector
The student Elaf Al -Jawhar explained that her project was designed as a solution to the problems facing the agricultural sector. The project consists of a robot specializing in seed cultivation, which works by classifying a number of cultivated areas, and deals with these areas based on the colors that distinguish it and the need of each region to specific types and quantities of seeds.
Environmental specialist Razan Al -Fuhaid stated that her participation in the forum aimed to shed light on the great efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of environmental preservation.
She added that her participation focused on clarifying the most important environmental and awareness activities, and raising the level of environmental sense among employees and students alike.
