"Trends" It hosts the meeting of the International Committee for Artificial Intelligence in the military field

Abu Dhabi, May 7 / WAM / The Trends Center for Research and Consulting at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi hosted the fourth meeting of the World AI responsible military in the military field (GC Reaim), with the participation of a group of international experts, policy makers and representatives of research institutions from the countries of the world, in the framework of the center’s support for global multilateral dialogues and its endeavor to enhance international partnership in the field of artificial governance governance.
This meeting is a pivotal station within the course of the committee’s work, as it focuses on reviewing the draft of the final strategic report, which represents the summary of the work of the sub -committees, in preparation for its submission to the United Nations.
Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al -Ali, CEO of the Trends Center for Research and Consulting, stressed in a welcome speech the center’s keenness to make the committee’s work to achieve its noble goal, which is to support the status of the basic standards that govern the accelerated developments in this vital field, and to direct them to serve security, stability and world peace issues.
He pointed out that hosting and organizing this meeting is the fruit of the efforts of the Trends International Foreign Office, stressing the compatibility between the goals of “Trends” and the goals that the meeting seeks to achieve, and the great importance that the center attaches to work for the governance of artificial intelligence in various fields, with the aim of maximizing opportunities and reducing the challenges and threats accompanying it.
He stressed that the need to address this issue has become urgent in light of the accelerated expansion of the use of artificial intelligence in the military sectors, and the accompanying moral and legal questions that cannot be delayed.
The meeting aims to discuss the first full draft of the strategic report, assess the strengths and weaknesses in it, identify the gaps that need to be addressed, and the issues that have not been eaten sufficiently; Participants seek to achieve a unified vision on how to address the moral, legal and operational aspects related to the use of artificial intelligence in military operations.
The meeting attaches the utmost importance to ensure the smooth integration of experts’ contributions, who have provided valuable visions through specialized policy notes, where the participants will assess the effectiveness of integrating these notes into the general fabric of the report, and exploring ways to enhance cohesion between seasons and sub -sections to ensure the provision of a consistent and comprehensive document.
A large part of the discussions will be devoted to exploring the next decisive steps for the committee, including determining a clear timetable for the completion of the report, determining the activities that will be made between the Hague Social and the “Reaim 3” summit, thinking about the future of the committee’s work in the long run and the possibilities of adding the institutional character to its efforts.
Tomorrow’s Trends Center is organizing a symposium within the work of the committee that addresses multiple axes, and is connected to the Gulf perspective to use artificial intelligence in the military field, lessons learned for artificial intelligence governance, the current status of international deliberations, and the prospects for building an implemented practical governance covering the entire life cycle of artificial intelligence.
