المملكة: In preparation for the pilgrimage … monitoring tours of slaughterhouses and markets to ensure health services

In the context of the intensive preparations for the Hajj season this year 1446 AH, the Office of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Rania Governorate, represented by the Markets and Slaughtering Department, began today, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in implementing control and inspection tours.
These tours come in cooperation with the joint committees from various relevant government agencies, and aim to ensure the readiness of slaughterhouses and public benefit markets, in a manner that ensures the provision of health and safe services to all beneficiaries.

Health standards

The regulatory tours focused on following up the application of the highest health and environmental standards within the slaughterhouses, and verify the readiness of equipment and workers to receive the season.
It included providing the necessary directions and guidance for workers with the aim of raising performance efficiency and providing an operating environment characterized by the highest degrees of hygiene and safety.
In this context, the director of the Office of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Rania Governorate, Mr. Mohamed Al -Subaie, said that these tours come within the operational plans of the office aimed at enhancing the quality of services provided to citizens, residents and visitors to the province.

Environmental requirements

Al -Subaie stressed the importance of strict adherence to health standards and environmental requirements in all slaughterhouses and approved slaughter points, in order to ensure the safety and suitability of meat for human consumption.
He stressed that the supervisory teams of the office will continue their work extensively throughout the Hajj season, and the follow -up will not only be limited to slaughterhouses, but will also include other public benefit markets.
He pointed out that these integrated efforts aim in its entirety to create a healthy and safe environment, which contributes to preserving the health and safety of everyone during this important period.
