Archive and the National Library organize a workshop on the role of artificial intelligence in developing archiving and libraries

Abu Dhabi, May 8, WAM / Archives and the National Library organized a workshop entitled: “The role of artificial intelligence in developing archiving and libraries” in which he revealed his orientations in the field of adopting artificial intelligence techniques and applications.
Strategic partners from government agencies and specialized companies concerned with archives and libraries participated in the workshop, whose efforts are integrated with the archives and the National Library in the context of enhancing artificial intelligence applications in its affairs, tasks and goals in line with the goals of the “General Society”.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of the Archives and the National Library, said that the subject of the workshop touches the essence of the tasks that the archive and the National Library perform, and keep pace with the accelerating digital transformations that we are witnessing in our time now and stressed that artificial intelligence applications have proven effective in various fields of archiving and libraries; Starting with the automation of administrative operations, through the classification of documents and their conversion to digital -processed digital formulas, to facilitate advanced searches and speed of access to information in addition to their role in enhancing data security, providing backup copies, reducing operational costs, as well as its role in supporting innovation and developing work methods,
After that, the Strategic Planning Office reviewed historical stations for the archive and the National Library to the current situation, then I look forward to some future trends, and pointed to standard comparisons with the major archives and libraries in the world, stressing that the archive and the national library since 1968 is the trustee of the state documents, and it harnesses artificial intelligence to take advantage of the data it keeps.
The Information Technology Department presented some innovative projects related to artificial intelligence, foremost of which is Nlagpt, which is fully operated within an internal safe environment without any dependence on external cloud services, which ensures that sensitive information is not leaked to the Internet alongside another project represented by the internal system of discharge and translation, which is an effective tool that supports the work of researchers and historians.
Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence has participated in a presentation entitled: “The current challenges facing artificial intelligence in dealing with local and cultural differences” while Brissit was the importance of artificial intelligence and its role in developing archiving and libraries.
